Exp penalty must be removed
it might be cool to have the option to just disable exp. like you don't gain or lose exp once you enable the option. that way if you get to whatever 94 and the last few passives won't make any meaningful difference you can just call the build complete and turn off exp and just map without the bar at the bottom of the screen taunting you whenever you die.

The problem is not exp loss but XP gain that is garbage.
Unfortunately GGG refused to make serious changes. After level 96 you need to spend a ton of hours to leveling with no deaths. Practically you need to be a robot or be paying for this "job". |

" The problem is neither in this case. The problem is people obsessed with getting to 100 despite the fact that it's basically meaningless. After level 96 you don't need to spend any amount of time leveling because there's absolutely nothing you can do at 100 that you can't already do at 96. Honestly you can quit stressing about leveling at 92 or 94 for most builds. The points after that are gravy. I've been playing PoE since very shortly after PoE1 was released and I've never had a character over 97. Getting to 100 is just not a big deal and you will be much happier when you stop worrying about it. If you really, really, really insist on getting to 100 you just have to buckle down. Dial your build back into heavy defense and stop running super juiced maps. Use +xp tablets on +xp waystones and never leave home without an amelioration. Keep at it and one day you will get to 100 and then probably say "why the fuck did I just do that? I don't feel any more powerful than I did at 96" and you will look back on this day. Nope.
XP Loss is healthy. If your OCD is demanding level 100 then you should figure out how to achieve that. It's not your next roguelike game where you just sit and click mindlessly to get what you want. Use Omens of Amelioration. Grind easier maps. Spam lvl81 Expeditions on Lush Island. Whatever works for you. If you still die, well... Work on your build and focus on properly timed dodges then. |

" It's different to play as 100 level than 96 and lower. You are more tougher to enemies hits and damage is significant visually stronger. These words you said coming for people who have classes stronger due to the lack of balance and so not complaining after reaching 92-94 levels. It's not the same and if you want to have comprehensive view, you need to play all classes to level 92 to understand the quits. |

" You don't seem to understand the thing called "diminishing returns", or how-to-make-sense. Show me how lvl100 vs. lvl96 is game-changing, for any class, with a build on poe.ninja. I bet you will avoid the answer or not answer at all. |
