Rarity on Equipment is still a bad concept

That isnt specific to your build, thats how it works for every build. Getting rarity means sacrificing something else.

Thats part of how the game works, you have to at some point choose between losing out on rarity or losing out on something else. So you can either do lower content with 100% rarity or you can sacrifice some rarity to do higher level content. And once you reach high end gear thats another scaling for your build where you try to fit in as much rarity as possible while still being able to clear content at a reasonable speed. It adds to diversity it doesnt take away from it.

The problem is that you dont want to choose between rarity and something else, you just think you should have both and since the game doesnt allow you to have both you think its a stupid mechanic.


I can make the same argument against defense, why does the game force me to choose between defense and offense stats on my gear? It ruins build diversity because it doesnt work with my one specific build, all builds should just have the same flat amount of defense and then we only scale offense on our gear, that would work better for me.


Defense tho has way more ways to get it. Rarity mostly only exists in equipment. The rarity on waystones can be ignored, its the same fro everyone.

As i explained before if someone else has a build where rarity is simply an easier modifier to include, then that build has a massive advantage. Therefore limiting Build diversity, because more people will got for that build. Or build type.
literally every build trades SOMETHING for rarity. just because you want to zoom with high DPS doesn't mean rarity should be capped and/or removed. that's just nonsensical.

it's also not like you get NOTHING for running 0 rarity. you find all the exceptional bases that those running with rarity cannot.

Rarity is good if you want it, lack of rarity is also good for other farming methods as well.

The only other place to get defense is on the skill tree.

And you can get rarity on the atlas tree, and on waystones and from tablets.

So the example is the same.

And for your second example you can use that for anything aswell.

So following your own examples we need to eliminate defense as an affix aswell because it hurts build diversity. And then we can go even further and use the same example for offense aswell, so what we would be left with is all of us wearing white items with no modifiers because any modifier thats put on it will by your example be unfair to some build and therefor killing build diversity.

While in reality this isnt how it works. Defense, offense, rarity are all different sliders that create diversity. You can fit rarity into your build easily if you want to, but you dont want to sacrifice the dps, thats your choice, thats a form of diversity. You want to clear faster then the cost is having lower rarity, or you could get more rarity and clear slightly slower. Its your choice. And choice is diversity.

First its 9% Rarity on the Atlas, everyone hast it. And on Waystones its the same for everyone. There isnt much choice or decision making involved. It seemsy you didnt even read my comment.
Item rarity should completeley disappear from any gear. It should only be dependent on the waystone tier and mods.
i agree, it feels terrible and should not be in the game
It's not since it's easy to get.

The real problem is that you need rarity on every piece of your gear to have a decent loot chance (outside of overlapping and the Omen who transform your modifier on rarity on a way stone).

100% increase rarity is mandatory for that, however it's hard to get valuable loot.
They could easily remove rarity from items and buff baseline accordingly, it's easy and better for the health of the game long-term.

If your build cant sacrifice any affixes at all to make room for a tiny amount of rarity then its just not a very good farming build.


And any build thats not a good farming build is just a trash build not worth playing. Plain and simple.
Every build needs to be capable of capping rarity, or rarity needs to not be a thing.
One's build should not affecting the quality nor quantity of loot drops
