0.30 The current gameplay is too boring.
Can we get a gameplay mode for an endless abyss? There should be no end inside, just one boss and a bunch of elites on each level. After defeating bosses for ten levels, there should be a large selection of prizes to choose from. It’s too boring to just keep opening maps and fighting bosses. I'm a level 95 lich and I can't continue playing anymore. Running around looking for bosses is too tedious.

map bossing definitely isn't where it's at this league, abyss maps are where the dopamine is
they have their own problems though, if you want to mf you gotta get tower setups that overlap good maps and good precursors, which is not that fun. then the waystones gotta be good, so you gotta spend a lot of currency on slamming them full, chaotic rarity+omen of sinistral necro+ preserved vertebrae. then you gotta reveal them and hope they hit good mods like overrun by abyss(100% rarity overrun maps sell for 3div) or extra pits/natural rare additional abyss mod to run yourself, then you gotta spend on paranoia to add deli rares. if you just roll a lot of maps and get 60% or higher rarity then do sinistral necro omen+preserved vertebrae it will cut down the cost a lot. I like to 5mod my maps and see if I can get an open prefix +60% rarity then you don't even need the omen you can just slam it abyss is kinda hard to see in when their mods are all going off, some degen just turns off recovery and you can't really see it, and you've got one shot on maps like that so it's rough. but a few lich builds can do it in 0.3, namely contagion and lament xbow Dernière édition par AverBeg7#1689, le 16 sept. 2025 à 09:59:54

Endgame as a whole is boring, a huge hassle to just not stay in the negative, and we spend more time setting things up than we actually get to play the good maps.
The new Waystone juicing design also make juicing feel more negative than positive, yet the new 3-slot tower requiring 6-affix waystones means that we feel "forced" to gamble. All in all, the whole endgame feels like it's designed for "the sweats" who actually "invest time" into the endgame and "plan" and "think" about setting up to "optimize rewards". WTF, I'm playing a hack and slash, not a stock market simulator. I don't mind the game providing room for people who want spend time micro-managing their waystones for optimized rewards; but don't balance the game such that anyone who doesn't do it feel penalized with bad sustain etc. I just want to kill monsters and pick up loot (including currency). I don't want to have to sort through dozens of waystones every session, do mass juicing as if I'm working an assembly line, and have to worry about the proportion of waystones I throw away (which means currency that I throw away due to bad RNG) making it unsustainable. If not for the Abyssal mechanic, I would have put down this league already. (With the bad performance being one of the primary reasons.) |

" +2. 80% of gameplay is spent looking for setups or figuring out how to get the best out of them. if you hunt for a good setup, then use the unique visions precursor to double the amount of times you can run the maps along with some expensive precursors, you can make a lot of profit and spend a lot of time on one setup. I would bring a friend though because the quant and currency from having a party is big it still has the same problem though, because it is a big investment you have to spend a lot of time finding a really good spot for it and you can't do it braindead or you will delete good maps. staring at 100+ maps on the atlas all the time and figuring it out is still a massive pain/ time sink Dernière édition par AverBeg7#1689, le 16 sept. 2025 à 10:13:22

" endgame is unfinished ... trash... and was made worse with the waystone changes this patch. other than the games terrible balance, and economy ... endgame is the biggest problem. its not engaging. its not fun. its full of overrun and surrounding mechanics that fry your computer and most builds cant handle(abyss, deli, breach) it is unoptimized. it is unrewarding. it is bad overall and completely obvious they 'tacked' on an endgame. and the worst part of the endgame.... is that from poe 1 to poe 2 i lost the agency of CHOOSING WHAT MAPS I RUN. which was the dumbest decision ive ever seen in video gaming. |

" sucks your pc can't handle abyss, mine is running on 20fps. you can try increasing the shader cache in global nvidia settings and it's a bit smoother. don't agree that it's the worst ever, but +2 to not being able to choose maps. I think the current system could work if towers worked like they all had The Grand Project precursor in them by default. If you could choose layouts out of all in range of unlocked towers you could run more of the stuff you want and do less travel to unlock things |

" my pc can handle abyss after they reduced the number of spawns a day or two after the launch. it was a lag show before that. what my pc cant handle, is a breach, then walking into an 3-5 pit abyss during it, while there are 2-3 other deli packs inbetween them... another 2-3 packs of native mobs... with the deli and breach screen effects going, while 30 piles of green goo cover the floor... 20 different green ball/crystals going off, in a group of 3-5 players smashing buttons making the 4th of july fireworks show look like a warm up to the real thing. my pc cant handle that. no. and neither can most players. and the fact that this company released abyss as it was, with 200+ monsters flowing out of abyss pits... speaks volumes on the ammount of shits they give, or testing they do. which both. are zero. |

" I think, in general, poe2 lacks the ability to choose in every aspect of the game, things improved with the latest patch, but when you are forced to do something you don't want, i think that's a problem Dernière édition par paulius86#5631, le 16 sept. 2025 à 18:53:22
