Network Driver Crash When Launching PoE2
|
I’m posting here because there doesn’t appear to be a dedicated technical support forum for PoE2.
Whenever I launch PoE2, my entire PC loses internet connectivity. The moment I close the game, my connection returns immediately. Event logs indicate: " and " This issue does not occur with any other game. Other devices on the network remain connected to the internet. I’ve already tried: - Rolling back the network driver - Resetting the network stack - Verifying the integrity of the game files - Rebooting my computer, many times. I’ve been able to play PoE2 in the past without issue. Any guidance on resolving this would be greatly appreciated. Dernier bump le 28 déc. 2025 à 16:44:08

Have you checked whether the power plan you're using permits Windows to put the adapter to sleep to preserve power?
I'm on a MacBook at the moment; I can hop on a Windows device tomorrow to get the proper terminology if that would be helpful. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

" I didn't even know this was a thing Windows could do haha. But I went into the power settings and changed it, then tested it and still no dice. Good idea tho! |

Dang!
Alright, can I ask whether you use any third-party firewalls or anti-virus suites? Additionally, if you're able to test with an Ethernet cable, do you notice any issues while trying to play Path of Exile with a wired connection? GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

" Apparently, I didn’t apply the power settings correctly the first time, but even after doing so properly, the issue persists. I’ve also disabled U-APSD and packet coalescing and lowered the roaming aggressiveness. I don’t use any third-party firewalls or antivirus software. Unfortunately, I don’t have an Ethernet cable long enough to reach downstairs, and since it’s the middle of the night I’m not keen on moving my setup at the risk of having an angry partner haha. I should have a Wi-Fi dongle somewhere, which might bypass the AX211 instability. I’ll try that and report back. (if I find it) |

Cool, cool - it's late o'clock here as well, so I'll be calling it a night myself.
If I don't hear from you tomorrow, I'll just assume that you did try moving it, and they... weren't pleased. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

P.S. Any chance of you giving a Clean Boot a shot sometime tomorrow?

" I have a feeling the dongle is in the attic, so I’ll leave it here for now. I’ll try a clean boot tomorrow, and if I find the dongle, I’ll test that as well. I’m also considering uninstalling the game from Steam and reinstalling it via the standalone client. If all else fails, I might do a full system wipe. (it’s probably due anyway) Too bad the Mac client isn’t out yet, I would have given that a try. I’m currently installing it on my Steam Deck, though I remember at launch the experience wasn’t great. Anyway, thanks so much for all the help so far! Hopefully, I’ll have some good news to share tomorrow or the day after. |

" I managed to log in and play with clean boot, I guess I'll spend some time trying to figure out what the offending process is. Thanks for all the help! |

Thanks for the update!
That's progress, at least. 👍 GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.
