Another point I wish GGG could comprehend.
If the torrent DL is meant for people with slow connections, what is the point of making the DL over 2 and a half times as large? If it would take 4-6 hours to download the patch on a slow connection, why would an 18 hour download with the release less than that make any sense.
Not to mention the fact the torrent seeds at 200KB/s, so it's going to take what? 5 days to download?!

No skill tree means no real preparation to choose a build. Free weekend will be infinite bots farming currency. Last league saw several thousand exalted orbs being worth one divine and several thousand divines being worth one mirror.
The only way to afford many builds is to sprint towards them from launch.
GG to anyone who can hire a research assistant to figure out the details while they roll a deadeye 1st char to farm during league launch.
I'd given up on poe2 but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that 0.1 and 0.2 were just out of season April fool's jokes but the jokes continue.
The excuse is that they haven't finalized some new JSON export format for the skill tree? There are like half a dozen people in the top management of prime external tools (uncompensated) that make GGG games playable to non no-lifers. Imagine just emailing them a dump of the skill tree in ANY format that could be trivially parsed as a one-off so that every other player could enjoy the lead up to league launch by puzzling out their gameplan while looking forward to a fresh league.
Insane.

I'm good. No hurt; just disappointment. Playing ARPGs for decades gives you a pretty good buffer of other stuff to play in the meanwhile.
Not releasing a skill tree pre-launch exposes a blind spot for a significant phase of each league.
Being able to hop in PoB and to try to concoct a half-baked off-meta league-launch build is a great time. It's a chance for every viewer to beat their favorite stremaer. It's a chance for every soft-SSF player to see if a new idea will make it without resorting to trade. It's a phase of the game. It was.
