Please don't lock us out with Rapid Shot

This is so disappointing to me, I don't care what you have to do GGG but please revert this. I somehow missed the memo of the heat mechanic and found out after 0.3.0 released and I took off work just to see that the build I have been waiting to play (that nobody plays anyway and is relegated to the 10 people that do) has been gutted.
Everything else has been great so far and I love the changes but please revert this, I beg. |

Here are suggestions:
First of all, there is no problem with one-button builds. I understand that you don’t want them in high-end content, but Rapid Shot is especially bad at low levels compared to patch 0.2. Reasons Rapid Shot is weak at low levels: You don’t have enough gem levels or quality to maintain firing for long. Your heat stacks faster the more attack speed you get — especially in the early game (RAPID Shot). If you build around Rapid Shot early on, the lockouts feel even worse, and you get severely punished for losing track of your stacks (which is very hard on mouse and keyboard, and even more so if you play on a widescreen). Just because a one-button rotation is usable at low levels and in early endgame stages doesn’t make it overpowered. If you punish builds like this at every difficulty level with a lockout or something similar, you not only limit how players can express themselves, but also exclude people who rely on such builds to enjoy your game because of disabilities. POINT 1 The 10-second lockout is just crazy. If you don’t want heat to stack over time like in the last patch, and instead want it to stack per shot while still being playable and fun, then simply make it deal less damage after you max out your heat. You could even lower the overall damage of the action if you think this change would make it too strong. I really don’t want to dive too deeply into this, because I’m sure you can come up with more options than I could to make Rapid Shot more enjoyable than it is now. You could reduce the lockout duration, of course, but I don’t think giving an ability called Rapid Shot any kind of cooldown was a good idea in the first place. POINT 2 The ways you can spend heat aren’t tuned correctly. The grenade, for example, is not usable with a build focused on Rapid Shot, and in my humble opinion it should use more heat than Incendiary Shot — somewhere between 40 and 60 heat to be specific. (Perhaps you could also consider letting heat spenders use all of your current heat even if you don’t have the required amount, though I don’t think that would be necessary if the lockout was removed.) The only way I could play Rapid Shot was with Incendiary Shot, and if you missed your timing, enemies had 10 seconds to bend me over. Again, removing the lockout could make this playstyle fun. (On a side note: I had trouble finding good synergies between Incendiary Shot and Rapid Shot. Also, do Incendiary Shot’s status-effect values change depending on damage type, or will it always buff Ignition?) POINT 3 But the biggest problem right now is the lack of options. I was sure there would be a support gem to customize my spender or let me choose a spell to act as the spender. (Also: why no Wizard Crossbow?) I know this is the beta, but I was very disappointed when 0.3 dropped without anything like this. I know I wouldn’t want to read this text, but I hope someone sees it.
