"25% of Armour applying to elemental damage" adds about 5% damage mitigation per 10000 armour against 1000 elemental damage and 2% reduction against 3000 damage.
I think the math is more like this (but please correct me if I'm wrong):
10000 armour * 25% applied to elemental = 2500 elemental armour
Damage Reduction = Armour / (Armour + (12 * Hit Damage))
Examples:
For a 1000 elemental damage hit, the damage reduction is:
2500 / (2500 + (12 * 1000)) = 2500 / 14500 = 17% reduction
For a 3000 elemental damage hit, the damage reduction is:
2500 / (2500 + (12 * 3000)) = 2500 / 38500 = 6.5% reduction
BUT -- elemental hits are generally a lot bigger than physical hits. Why? Because people have at least 75% resistances. So you're looking more at 10000 point elemental hits:
2500 / (2500 + (12 * 10000)) = 2500 / 122500 = 2% reduction
So not a great buff -- and that's for 10000 points of armour which is a lot in PoE 2.
Did they confirm somewhere that the mitigation would happen before resistances or after?

I'm talking about overal damage reduction including resistances.
If you compare 75% elemental resistances with and without 10000 armour there will be the diffirence of 5% and 2%.
Also damage reduction from armour is not additive but multiplicative.

Yes, in the recent ZiggyD interview. It's calculated before resistance mitigation.

Another Another Example: Resolute Technique no longer guarantees attacks will hit. There is ZERO that can be added to the passive tree that makes this better than the previous implementation -- nothing. You still lose critical hits. Best case the passive tree changes allow 100% hit -- which is exactly where we were in 0.2.0.
And you are ignoring that johnatan said in the video.. they changed how accuracy in melee works and warriors will already hit pratically ALWAYS even without investing in accuracy. Witht his change a notable that make you hit always was useless!

Ahh... People don't know what they are talking about. Nice to see.
They changed so much in this patch, that no one here is able to tell what is a nerf or what is a buff. They didnt just change some passive nodes, they also added more, implemented running, no cooldown on shield charge anymore etc.
Do any of you have the balancing sheet ready that explains that warrior was nerfed? A balancing sheet that includes all the change? And have you played already 0.3 on internal servers? I guess not, but you're ready to judge the changes already, without trying out how it feels.
Some people just want to be toxic and will always find a reason to be.
Ahh, yes, the classic line: “You just haven’t seen the changes live yet, it’s actually good!”
Right… just like when taxes were under 10% and then got doubled, and people said “no no, wait until you experience it, you’ll love it!”
Turns out you don’t need to “playtest” higher taxes to know they feel worse. Some things are pretty clear without waiting for the government’s internal servers to go live.
The joke is on you. I was in Gamescom 2025 yesterday and playtested 0.3 there for 20 minutes. The game feels actually great and way better then 0.2. People always seem to forget that tuning something down isnt automatically a nerf, if other things get buffed (like equipment) or also get tuned down (enemy difficulty). You can only really judge these things once you play it.
Some people here have actually absolutely no idea on how hard it is to balance a normal game. Path of Exile 2 is WAY more harder to balance then other games.... That's why there is an alpha and that's why they need data/feedback from thousand of players when 0.3 comes out.

Except 0.3.0 wasn't available for play testing at Gamescon this weekend -- at least according to the internet.
