New update and continued console game crashing!?!??!??

Crash reports are not an option. The game freezes the console completely.

Constantly freezes since the update. For me it seems to happen a lot of times at the end of a "Shield Charge" when the Sound plays and this shield bash thing is happening. I love this game but I really hate that on console nearly every patch some essential things break - since years. For gods sake please try to be a bit more interested in console and try to at least make the impression that you are playing and testing stuff before releasing it. Console people are also buying your stuff and you constantly (even admitted it) neglect them. Edit: Wasn't "Shield Charge" - did crash without it as well... I'm wondering if it's the old problem returning.
If you boot your console in safe mode and clear cache and rebuild database, does the problem go away? |

Alexander_GGG; that was the very first thing I tried. I seem to be able to run a couple maps after I do this, but then the problem returns. And once it happens, it will do it very quickly after starting the game back up again. Is it possible to just go back to the previous version before the patch? Everybody seems to think the game was just fine before the patch.

clearing the cache seems to have solved the issue for me

Could a toggle button be added to Options to turn off all sound? Hehehe

For me the problem has been resolved by deleting the PS4 app and downloading the PS5 app on my PS5, but this of course does not help the PS4 players

I doubt it. I've had many issues with PS5 client for the last year and had to switch to reliable PS4 version. Plus I'm not keeping PS4 client , PS5 client, AND poe2 on my system. Eats so much disc space I was going to delete poe2 since haven't played that in like a year.
Please fix or roll back this unnecessary sound update. Again, lost at least 1 full day of the gauntlet run so likely won't be able to attempt to clear campaign |

@Alexander_GGG I did the database rebuild and that seemed to work. I played for about an hour or so and then the same thing happened again.
Same frozen screen, no way to report the crash. |

As others mentioned, turning off the sound effects (slider to the leftmost position) did solve the freezing for me (at least for 10+ maps).
