# Target Farming for SSF Players in PoE2

SSF

Isn't the essence of this game rng loot?

I get min/max... but the very principal of playing ssf goes against that concept. If you want to min/max, you play trade. You'll never accomplish the same thing in ssf, never... or at very least its exponential time cost.

I prefer not knowing what drops what, where or how. I don't want specific mobs or bosses target farmed for specific gear. I don't want to lookup loot tables and blah blah. If I did, I'd play trade.

Even using vendors in ssf feels a little dirty. Its a huge shortcut... honestly it kinda clips the wings of the game a little in of itself.

Mobs should drop things by rarity according to their difficulty. All the things. This being gated by rarity. This creates a natural progression.

There are some really curious bad decision making shit in this game. Like all these low level uniques that drop at high levels. Unless I'm making a new character, they're all trash. Why do that? Wouldn't it be way more fun to have uniques of that level drop at that level? Does that make too much sense?

Bit of a tangent.

I'd also love to see the game drop trade and focus the entire balance system around one game mode. The focus would dramatically help game development, and get the heart of the game back where it belongs.

For all the stupid hills that ggg dies on, I'm absolutely shocked that trade exists in this game. This style of game should not have trade. It literally devalues the entire game and virtually nullified balance- its actually trolling.

Trade causes more problems than it solves and has become a crutch for a bad loot system. Just get rid of trade and have the devs feel forced to tackle the issues of the game.

You are into something here. I also think trade is some kind of a cancer for this genre. I've observed quite a lot of the feedback's and it seems people who hate or complain about this type of games are the one who play trade leagues.

Trade just cut 90% of the content that the game offers and makes that content pointless. Majority of trade league players skip 95% of the loot and just picks exalts/divines and t4-5 rares everything else is skip. I mean playing like this I will understand why they complain..!

SSF just makes - even force you to play every mechanic that the game offers. Also majority of SSF players intent to stay most of the league period, while trade league players just cheat themselves by buying the items, playing around them for mostly one week and quit the game by boredom..

The biggest misconception about this game is that it's balanced around trade! But it's not! Actually it's balanced around SSF! And the biggest proof for that is that after a week in trade league there is big inflation going on.. Just in a week from fresh start.. If it was balanced around trade, that should've not happened that early.. And as a SSF player - playing for a just a month i acquired 85 to 90% of the whole content(items and such), just a month.. And league is 4 months so yeah It's quite SSF friendly i must say!

Target farming on a mode on self challenge.

Really good job there.

Target farming has little to no impact on self challenge because it can still be a challenge to find the item even with target farming.

Have fun never doing any build except the quick and easy meta of the month like lightning arrow I guess, since you can't ever hope to find even some 1ex unique you can find as pure trash in trade league.
i was thinking about just boosting SSF with 50-75 base rarity, and HC 25-50

You decided to play SSF, now live with it. It's a challenge mode, if you can't surpass the challenge, it doesn't mean that GGG need to nerf it, no, it mean you failed. From now you have 3 choices: 1. You accept what SSF is, 2. you play normal mode or 3. Leave and play another game.

I play HC SSF (btw), but would rather play a no stash league if it existed.

Do consider adding it GGG.

lvl 97 SSFHC here... first off they said div cards are coming, how that will look exactly nobody knows right now.

but also, i was able to chance bones of ullr just farming lattice sandals in act 2 and then i got an omen of chance from ritual boss in order to get my prism guardian guaranteed with just 1 chance orb lol. got a foil ventors from reliquary key and a few more ventors (i think they hit commonly) all from chance orbs.

i got lucky with darkness enthroned belt, getting a helm-based variant early on, but there are certainly ways to target farm them. desecrating maps and hunting for abyss on the atlas are both good ways to increase your abyssal depths/kulemaks invitations.

then i put wisps into my atlas tree to farm up the talismans of ralakesh for minion efficiency (took a while but i got them).

i was also prepared to spec into rogue exiles after finding the talismans i needed, but by that time ive already got my bones of ullr and my prism guardian, so its all good.

the only things that feel unreasonable really was level 20 skill gems are still too rare, and its a bit difficult to get the lineage gems you need. (i think lineage gems are imbalanced in general, most are too common/useless and the good ones are insanely rare.)

don't get me wrong, its a pretty savage experience, but thats the point of ssf, and its 100% possible to target pretty much everything, and it feels good to see your character grow through it.

as for your suggestions, boss specific loot tables already exist in end game and the ritual one drops omen of chance which gives guaranteed hits. SSF-specific stuff will never exist for obvious reasons, you'd choose it every time and it just makes no sense at all unless you rework the entire game just for SSF which wont happen. base hording sucks, plus this pretty much already exists in the form of disenchanting for chance shards lol. but yea, no one wants to horde a billion bases for "vendor recipe" and also unfortunately it already kind of exists in the game in the reforge bench for magic/rare items which is tedious enough already. overall i'd say your suggestions are pretty bad and not thought out and are indicative of a lack of knowledge/experience/commitment.

Yes, lets get rid of the standard mode, which 99% of the playerbase prefers playing because you don't like it
