trials of chaos/sekhma are too hard and I'm not going to even bother

I am not a badass and I cleared all of them on AoC monk. It is less a matter of skill and more a matter of strategy, more specifically buying boons.


I’m in the opposite boat. I hope it is made a little harder and has monster level 83 so I can farm it for experience and drops instead of juicing maps.

I have 2 builds that are above level 80 and one build that is around level 75. I only got one 3rd ascendancy for my lightning spear build. The other two builds is too damn hard to get their 3rd. To get a 4th is next to impossible for me. Its absurdly hard and have given up. Its silly actually. There is no way a casual will even land a 3rd in its current state.

I don't even bother picking keys to enter these trials when drop, for me it's a complete waste of time and my nerves. I play to relax and have a "good time while playing" and not to get nervous while rng in those trials...

It's for levels 93-100. In lower levels is difficult to survive unless you get help.

So try leveling to 93 and then try again.

I usually lean toward "get better at the game." But I'll bet you a dollar that they change this. It really sucks right now.

I finally watched Jonathan's interview with the Japanese streamer this week. He said:

1) Players are completing maps more slowly than expected. They will rebalance maps in 0.3.0

2) Trial of Sekhemas is intended to play differently, and more slowly, than the rest of the game

3) Trial of Chaos is intended to be paced like the rest of the game. If it is too slow, they will rebalance it.

4) The new, third, way to ascend, will play completely differently from Trial of Sekhemas.

5) You can ascend every time using the new way if you want. You won't need to run Trial of Sekhemas ever.

Important: he didn't guarantee that the new way to ascend will be out in 0.3. But I bet they're trying to make that happen, because of the issues around trials.

First comment on the forum for me. I have to say i am really surprised how many people seem to have difficulties ascending.

I actually think temple of chaos should be a little bit harder. To me it feels right now like temple of chaos is by far too easy compared to sekhemas. I have fully ascended 4 characters and temple of chaos always was the "safe way" to do it. Even with mid gear its doable. With good gear every boss is dead in one hit. Really hope they dont scale it back.

He's still referring to 'meaningful' on several occasions... *rolls eyes*
No Jonathan, the choices in the passive tree feel LESS meaningful than in POE1 because only so few nodes allow for a viable build within each class.
And no Jonathan, having to dodge roll from time to time also doesnt feel 'meaningful'

Sigh ... Looks like we're in for a lot more stuff that makes the game worse ...

The people who gained their 4th ascendancy on all their builds most likely acquired killer stat gear through trade. Remember, not everyone is trading and are playing SSF!!!

If I have to level up 15 levels above what the coin level requires....then that's nuts!!!!

So to get my 4th ascendency on crap gear in SSF, I would have to hit level 95!?

Yup how can anything be 'meaningful' when monsters are super fast and stun you to death, while the tree is only to slightly buff gear, and gear is completely luck/gambling dependent. This game is repeating POE1 mistakes but without the fun, I don't want external resources to build and get gear ffs I want to find stuff in game and have freedom to experiment :/

Not really i just ran it and stacked boons and have relics that boost my defense. It's a rougelike. The more you do it the better relics you get and the stronger you are in the run. Just pickup and buy "honor resistance" "increased defenses" "bosses take more damage" "bosses deal less damage" relics from balabala and then focus boons and you'll be fine honestly. Unless your build is actually just really really bad as long as you stack those on your relics you should be able to clear it.
