Its not that Grotto is a bad map or that players are angry at specific zone's (enter any zone here) its that there is no choice and random generation will by proxy always screw someone. Besides that a little choice in what maps i run is tied to the zone of both towers and biome (thats not friendly to random gen either). People get mad when something out of their controle happens or when people believe they have no way of fixing it. This is tied towards choice and therefor I believe it can be solved by adding more player choice or if you really want to stick to the way that players cant interact with zones. Then maybe create a similair favourite slot interaction where it can spawn either certain biomes more or specific maps, that way it atleast feels like there is some leeway into a compromise between rng and commitment. Besides the reason why the atlas and atlas tree was fun is because people could create strategy's around them. In poe2 there is no strat theory to begin with because its all random and certain league mechanics by proxy dont favour certain zones. There is too much random interactions that need to perfectly allign for it to even be fun in the first place. Lets recount them 1: Map layout (mire or augury?) 2: Tower spawn spot (it can have 0 or 3 towers that add's rewards that i want) 3: Biome (why does my map only spawn ocean and my friends map has only mountains, i cant run savannah because i dont have a desert) 4: Tile rewards are not what league mechanic i want to run (i added delirium on my tablets but it dint spawn where i was going now i have to do 10 maps that i dont want to with rewards i havent specced in at the tree). See, give the player some choice in their lay-out and by proxy you can now say well the player made his choice, if thats optimal or fun is irrelevant, because the player himself made that decision. Hell you could even give a speech about what's actually optimal at that point or berate them for being a noob. But not when a player has no choice or gets into a random situation that's out of their controle.

while i will admit that these changes, along with the changes from the last loot patch were great patches - they still dont address the fundamental issues that "dawn of the nerfs" implemented. move speed is trash for most builds and damage simply isnt there. yet - youre nerfing melee...stop nerfing everything and bring underwhelming builds UP to match better builds. you're not going to get players back with these patches because the game feels bad - even if the end game loot IS better...

You give more and more items, more loot. You are closer to the D4 genre than you think. Poe2 is more and more like Diablo 4, we have a piñata of loot just to keep children playing the game that their parents pay for. Do something about trading and also with creating items we want, crafting is the bottom, I have not seen such a bad system. There is no offline auction hall. Try trading on xbox, you minimize the game and immediately disconnect. I have to use a laptop or cell phone to trade. 80% of people are online but do not respond to trade requests. But.....money counts ,right GGG?

Sigh.
- Get rid of ministun. It's unbearable trash for EV/ES, even with mitigation - Undo the Wind Dancer and Acrobatics nerfs. These were so undeserved. Mechanics like evasion only become worthwhile at higher values and higher values can now only be obtained if you have absolute godly gear. It's ridiculous, frustrating and the consequences are severe and made me turn off the game many times since - Lower mana costs ! We all know by know that everything in this game, from movement speed starvation, to multiple drawbacks and limitations on skill and support gems, high stat requirements, lowering of IAS, etc etc are all there for 1 reason = to keep player power low. Another prime example is the high mana costs, there for the same reason. But this is what that does in practice : After finally acquiring a near-perfect quiver and equipping it, my excitement drained fast after discovering that by equipping that quiver (and getting a certain amount of + to skills), firing off a mere 3-4 arrows now drained my 900+ mana pool in 2 seconds. This DESPITE the fact i was already dedicating 2 support gems and 4 passive points to cost reduction, and was taking mana regeneration and mana wherever i could snag it. This is now what the game is : slog through the heavy RNG for as long as you can stand it until you finally get an awesome upgrade, then immediately become frustrated and annoyed because of skills becoming insanely expensive and/or having to invest loads more currency into buying replacement pieces for all other gear slots if you want to keep your maxed resistances and stat requirements for everything (due to the severe lack of any player agency to fullfill these requirements/needs in the passive tree or with more deterministic crafting for example) It's just frustration after frustration. Getting good gear should feel great. This is now the first ARPG i've played where that is no longer the case.
