Please remove Volatile Plants from the game

This spell is the opposite of fun and is the reason for 90% of my deaths, despite beeing chaos capped and always careful when I see a unique mob with it.

That thing pops out in your face in the middle of a the fight and when you see it it's too late. The best you can hope for is running 2 km to get rid of it and then come back to give a few hits before the next balls comes out and wreck your chaos capped face. You cannot dodge it, stunning or freezing the mob doesn't stop it from going out, there's basically nothing you can do about it apart from running a marathon each time you come across it, and that is a lot of times.

And then there are all the stuns and other CC which get's you killed because it's stops you from moving for like 500 ms which is more than enough for the chaos balls to kill you like you were a creep.

Or maybe you just ran into a dark grey wall in that darkish grey map, thinking it was a dark greyish path and then it stopped you from moving for 300 ms and you died.

Or maybe that pack of lighting mobs were filling the whole screen with super bright, eye killing, lightning spells, and you didn't see those stupid chaos balls and so you stopped moving for like 400 ms and you died.

Long story short, please remove volatile plants from the game, it is ruining a perfectly fine game otherwise

Sometimes you need to run toward them instead of away. If you run through them they stop and by the time they explode you are out the other side.

Now if you get stuck on mobs or something else while running through them then that is bad but assuming normal movement, I never get hit by running through them.

But I agree, they are quite annoying especially when many of them are being spit out.
Even more frustrating is when the map spawns a Ritual area in a map not designed to take a ritual area
You end up with a thin landing strip that you can work with

Then the chaos balls from whatever comes along, in their dozens, surrounding you from all directions and then mobs blocking you and voila, blind panic sets in and the sense of impending doom ...kiss goodbye to your experience
Yes i am chaos capped at 83 now, and still get squished

People may say "git good"...but sadly the reaction to this mechanic is to skip rituals....which just takes another elelement of the game and make it out of bounds at high levels

IF you want to keep these chaos balls in the game then have the curtesy to design your maps with areas that can actually fully spawn a ritual area
Thats only fair surely?

Edit:
Meh, i'm done now
Just lost half an experience bar in 2 maps, 5 deaths and 3 of them i had absolutely no idea what hit me!
Thats not fun at level 89.....2400 life.....84% evasion.....full res caps including chaos......28k dps on lightning arrow.....35% move speed

We lost poe 1 for this.
The vision!!
Been here since Open Beta.

Volatile plants are straightforward enough to deal with. Just run through them.

Problem is in a dynamic combat environment with a multitude of variables happening it can be hard to see until it's too late.

Volatile plants is the main reason why I play slowly. Keep in mind, it's hard to target the rare to read if it says 'volatile plants' with controller and that's how I play.

They go right through my shield walls. They shouldn't. At least one should detonate like it does on any other wall.

Now add being frozen or slowed or just gangpiled and unable to move in time: Instant death.

And full chaos resist does next to nothing for them. I ended up changing my gear to gain more dps since that really does seem to be the better way to handle them: I can move more freely and avoid them if more mobs around that rare are dead faster.
They are one of the few mods that affect how I play, so I dont want them removed.

I have no issues with them in rituals, but the ones from rare mobs don't always glow as bright as the ritual ones and could use some SFX to indicate that they exist.

Ive done lots of dmg tests on volatiles. At 60% chaos res they hit me for 2.6k dmg (against ES, so 1.3k for life), which shouldn't 1 shot anyone. But 2-3 stacked up will 1 shot most of everyone.

GGG posted that volatile plants are responsible for 54.69% of endgame deaths. Just from this one cause alone!

Fortunately, in that same post they stated that they are "addressing" this issue in the next hotfix.

They literally forces us to play CI builds. Life/armor defense is a joke, energy shield ramps up like crazy, and majority of random deaths comes from some sort of chaos damage on maps. Thx GGG, now I get the vision.
They are usually a non issue, besides ritual or if you got temporal chains or both. Ritual they can be deadly, doesn’t matter what your chaos resistance is, you will get 1 shot 0 or capped chaos resistance. Just skip rituals on maps like augury, mire, or any maps where there’s not much wiggle room to move around because the game also puts an invisible wall for 1 second where the mobs will spawn before they even spawn and you’ll just get trapped and die as you cannot dodge roll through it
