Crafting is complete trash - change my mind

It's hard to change your mind because crafting isn't actually crafting.

Omens need a rework.
They need to be very common drops. I mean exalted orb common. You see them everywhere, and they all have the same weight. BUT here's where the change comes. USING the omen consumes more units of currency per trial. You can design an omen that will consume 3 divines but it will roll lucky numeric values. Or 5 exalted orbs, or 5 annuls, or 10 augs... MAKE A CURRENCY SINK. |

Most fun crafting I played was this MMO Vanguard many moons ago... had to make ingots and mats and all of it had mini games to play with action points to correct mistakes and stuff. The only thing I saw similar was FFXIV Reborn but that was not as good while close.

I wouldn't say crafting is great, but I'm starting to see some semblance of a crafting system (rather than simply slam the rng orb and done).
Omens/recombinator/essences feel like the start of a crafting system but the acquisition of materials/base types does not feel fulfilling. Filling quad tabs with base types to reforge until a good mod appears to then use in the recombinator, which will delete 95% of what I've gathered, is just not fun. Crafting items which take up lots of inventory space (quarterstaves) is particularly annoying. "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."
