Dear Jonathan,
developers become emotionally tied to the game they have spent years of their life building. they become protective of it. and just like a mother who overprotects a child, this has a strangling effect of
their growth. i feel like that's the problem here. in the latest video interview, right out of the gate, he becomes defensive, claiming we can't speed up the player because that will trivialize combat. that is a perfect example being so overprotective that he doesn't even want to consider it. I am shocked at how fast the Huntress was before the Early Access released. But, let's give them some time, it's still Early Acces, they're still testing things out.
Let's be positive about these changes, look at the bright side, htey're testing them now, and the Full Release game version will be in perfect balance! |

The drops are generally awful. Everywhere. Normies, Magics, Rares, Bosses, Wisps, Chests, Strongboxes, and so on... everything is lacking. I thought this might get better now that my Ritualist is absolutely cooking with Bleed, but it's not. And the response to that in the Ziz interview (particularly Regals) to 'shard more Rares'... cos we find so many Rares (as drops, via vendor/gamble)... just wow.
I'm just a few maps into Act I Cruel, so I hope it gets progressively better until something decent in endgame, but I'm sceptical. Some early (and useful) Uniques & an Act III Div aside, it's been positively painful. Bosses dropping a few crappy magic items and blue orbs, empty magic chests, Rares dropping blue orbs/white items/maybe a magic item or two, and on and on I could go. Not always, obviously, but way too often the drops are non-existent or seriously lacking. The loot needs to be near the top of your 'Today' list. Period. Beautiful post OP. Great points you brought up. I agree with just about all of it
I hope and pray that this is the worst it's going to get. Jonathon did say that they need to make the game fun for the players, so if the players are not having fun, time to make big changes. This is that time, more than ever! |

People who spout “it’s mostly negative” yeah no shit, the vocal minority changed their reviews. I can’t change my positive review to a positive to counter balance it so only the whinger reviews are showing.
Player count and first week retention speaks for itself. 10k negative reviews from the whiners qq |

" I posted and commented about this for like 6 hours straight last night lol, lost a bunch of sleep but I hope it was worth it. I COMPLETELY agree with you, the loot is bare bones all the way across the game. They need this fixed ASAP |

I was playing a few minutes ago (until I got frustrated and close it) and I was at a crypt, and it was absurd that the first thing I encounter is a bridge and at the other side were like 15 monster that spam some electric attack and every single one of that stunned.
Not to mention that they seem to have this weird obstructions that if there's a grain of rice in the floor, the attack cancels itself, so basically you can't do anything there. I really think they should flat out remove this stun festival and also remove that random map blocking. It's ridiculous, annoying, totally pointless and frustrating. |

Indeed crossbow reload while dodging isn't a think that destroys the game mechanism. If we consider that crossbow style playing is the slowest of all styles, something must be done to improve further more the speed of attack. The lack of passive skill is another pain.

" Yea, my league starter this time was merc and I was constantly amazed that dodge roll interrupted my reload. I'd get into situations with tons of mobs, and I'm spamming dodge roll to get away, to then wait another half second after to finish the reload I started 4 seconds ago. Everything is just too slow to keep up with the pace of combat. Every class has something like that, where the animations and such are just too slow for you to do what you want to in combat. |
