Dawn of the Hunt - What We’re Working On
How many times must it be said that "maps are too big" for it to click with the developers that there is no hidden meaning behind this. Zones are literally too fucking big for the type of game this is.

ehhhh.....
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

The issue with the huge areas and tanky mobs is that the game feels like a slog and a chore. Sure the bosses are in a good spot but the in-between ... oh boy. It is so boring to me.
When even the nolife streamers feels it is too much a hassle it is a huge warning sign to what the more normal players feel. For me I can sum up this league patch with 1 word: Frustration |

Can you fix Answered Call Warbringer node please. The Ancestral Spirits are bugged and never spawn.
Thank you. |

" yeah man, its vastly worse end game. They need to relax with the bricking class nerfs. It's very extreme. |

get rid of the parry and raise shield bullshit, none of us wants to use that! Stop being in such disconnect with what was fun for you old farts 25 years ago, this ain't diablo 2 era anymore.

Ghazzy and others have repeatedly raised the issues of minion survivability in early games. And what you did was a blanket nerf to all minion at all level instead of endgame like you were bragging about your end game "vision".
At this point I have to question do GGG even value players' feedbacks because it seems they are dead set on their "vision", players' experience be damned. |

The devs are so out of touch with what players are actually saying.
Cull the weak generates power charges when minions are in cull range-- which is exactly when you DON'T need charges any more. On top of that, one of the big problems with Huntress is that you're forced into multi-button combos just to clear white packs. Even if Cull the Weak actually solved the problem of charge generation, which it doesn't, it STILL wouldn't help the fact that the Huntress really should be renamed to Pianist. Players don't want to be forced into melee range. That doesn't mean you should incentivize them to go into melee even more. It means they don't like that playstyle! Don't force them to do it! Players think the areas are way too big because our characters are slow as fuck and it takes forever to travel across a zone-- let alone find all the rares. Checkpoints do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to solve this problem. You still have to run all the way across a zone at least one time! The zones are way too big! Either increase player speed or reduce area size. Pick one. Stop trying to get around solving the real issue. Minion damage is too low at ALL levels-- not just the campaign. Finally, the fact that you think the solution to the Huntress is to buff the attack speed of Lightning Spear-- one of the only huntress skills that is actually good-- just shows that you're completely clueless as to what the actual problem is. The problem is not the FEEL of the skills. It's that the skills are WAY too dependent on the strength of your weapon during the campaign. If you don't have a good spear you will absolutely suck ass and there's basically no way to deal with that because you can't reliably farm or craft better gear-- ESPECIALLY during the campaign. Giving lightning spear 25% attack speed just makes you run out of mana faster and do the same 0 damage you were doing before. And on top of that, all the other spear skills aren't getting as much of a buff so I guess you just want everyone to play lightning whether they want to or not! It's so frustrating hearing the devs, over and over again, hear direct and simple feedback and then go through insane mental gymnastics to explain how the actual problem is some completely unrelated thing that has nothing to do with the real issue-- which is that core design choices are anti-fun. Holy cow, I would pay good money to see Johnathan actually directly answer a question just one time. |

I have to say this post relieves me a bit because I generally feel like the pace of the game and skill power isn't as bad all the haters are making it out to be.
Reading through this the team at GGG is continuing to sort through the over reactions and identify where there are actual issues versus things just not meeting someones expectations. Keep up the good work! This game is coming along well and while it feels different than PoE 1 I'm enjoying it all the same! |
