Why does this game not support Super ultrawide resolutions?

I think they should cut it back to a 4:3 ratio. I mean, if the 0.01% of 32:9 players having an "advantage" is a problem, then the advantage the 16:9 players have over the people still using 4:3 monitors is an even bigger problem.

We should all be forced to play 4:3 so its an even playing field. Afterall, fair is fair.

If you address problems or exploits please provide proof. I hear alot of problems/exploits that 32:9 causes but so far no one provided actual evidence. In the other thread someone posted screenshots to proof quite the opposite.

i play 2540x1440 thats it simple format..

and

i do not not care even if people play on 9000x2000...

why all this anti WS war by GGG and some people here ...?

they can play on 15000 x 2400 and i would not care at all

especially in POE2

Ok Guys, I post this again (It was already topic about it)

The example is from Diablo 4. Unfortunately, I do not have screenshots from Diablo 3, as they are either lost somewhere on my hard drive or have been deleted.

This is how looks Ultra Wide screen in D4 - there also limit in D4 but not that strict like in PoE2 (you can make wider screen game)

This is small hack in Wide Screen (3480*1440) in D4 (this is not illegal, I just added new resolution in Nvidia panel to simulate Ultra Wide, downgrade are black bars)

And this is how you take advantage over other players in PvP and PvE
- B/W color is FullHD
- color is Wide Screen
- red is Ultra Screen

I will also post again:) my old post from another topic

I agree that seeing more of the map may be an advantage and speed up player progression, but it remains pretty far down the list compared to other poe-specific advantages no one bans for:
- actual character build
- amount of visual clusterfuck associated with the build (the less aoe particles the better)
- player patience and ability to keep moving cautiously over long periods to reduce random oneshot frequency
- advanced party composition with dedicated aurabot, MF cullers, and cursebot
- client fps
- network latency
- controllers, including good mouse/keyboard with hardware input macros

And you need to grind 24/7 in order to accumulate noticeable time save from your vision. Anything less and any 16:9 nolifer will "outcompete" you.

On the other hand, the negatives:
- looks universally ugly. Safe to say no one chooses black bars if he can avoid them
- may cause monitor burnout if you play black bars a lot
- affects everyone, including those who couldn't care less about any competition all the way down to SSF. If you really believe that every trade league player is actively competing, what about SSF players?:)

Implementing proper solution like fog of war - supposedly costly and time-consuming. So it boils down to simply keep/remove black bars. To whether or not they are worth all the problems they bring. I think not.

TLDR: black bars is another example of poor GGG design, solving a minor niche problem with major universal collateral damage.
It's not fair to the people who have 32:9 monitor or triple monitor.
I don't play PVP. You think not fair for you , why you don't buy a 32:9 monitor?
How about internet connection , some people only have 1MB internet connection , so everyone can use 1MB internet connection only!?
5120 x 1440 please let me use the whole screen.
if u buy any monitor other than 16:9 with at least 144hz ur opinion does not matter

I don't think ive ran into any other modern ARPG that does not have support for this.

Are GGG just really behind the times or are their devs just really lacking?

I mean there are individuals that manage to fix this support for their games. So whats up?

They used to, then they realized it made the game MUCH less deadly, so they consider it cheating and took your ability to see things "off screen"

Well you didn't buy it just for POE did you? Because if you didn't, than i'm not sure why you're complaining -- IT's how the game is and has been foryears. They will NEVER allow ultra widescreen because it lets you literally see things that they want you to be afraid of.

It makes the game even EASIER.
Why does this game not support zoom-out for players using HD resolution because can't afford to buy new GPUs?

Great GGG you benefited only rich people!
