I just can't really find myself liking PoE2, for several reasons

I just can't get over how mind numbingly slow every single class is aside from maybe deadeye. Dunno why ggg is so stubborn with movement speed
here's the issue as i see it

the campaign is story mode, it can be slow paced with set piece fights and provide adequate quest rewards to help you feel you are progressing regardless of RNG

mapping is completely different, its all RNG and about generating as many drops as possible to give yourself the best chance to progress.
You literally HAVE to go fast and be efficient otherwise you are completely hampering your progress.

the playstyles/concepts are at complete odds with each other.
in story u try to be a "souls like" (hate that term it is bs gaslighting) and to a degree can work

then you get to maps were it is speed and efficiency that counts, and the souls like gameplay that worked in the campaign just doesnt work here

mapping demands speed and efficiendy a classic arpg playstyle. thats why the endgame feels so bad, the slow story style literally conflicts with content being played

the only solution if you want the same slow style throughout and keep the game feeling good is to drastically increase the rewards for endgame. xp, drops the whole shibang. remove the need for cycling content as fast as possible.

that could create a new problem though...players will always want to go faster and be more efficient.....

perhaps the "souls like" slow pace is just a pipedreeam in a game based soley on loot and will never really work

And even though its slow I CANT SEE ANYTHING IN A PARTY LOL

Innocence forgives you
I honestly think PoE 2 in its current state is just bad und not fun. I already suspected this back when PoE 1 kept getting slower and slower, clearly being pushed in this exact direction.

Playtime padding might be a big factor in many games nowadays, but seriously – an ARPG that’s played at snail pace and on top of that isn’t even fun anymore… what’s the point?

In PoE 1 I always had the feeling the devs mainly listened to the HC streamers, and the Gauntlet event basically confirmed that for me. Not even in my wildest dreams would I join such an event. I get that some people enjoy it – but it’s mostly those who know the game inside out and roll a new character every 3 days.

PoE 2 has nothing good left for me. Everything feels slow, sluggish, and absolutely not thought-through – just thrown together randomly. I couldn’t even try the “awesome new” trade system because, surprise surprise, I first have to find that guy in Act 4. Well, too bad – I already lost all motivation in Act 3.

It’s just a shame, but I’ve realized I can spend my time in better and more fun ways than playing PoE 2. Respect your players’ time and remember: not everything has to be pain and suffering. Make every skill viable and not just this meta crap where only one skill actually works.
Yeah, it was evident even since 0.1. The game design is just at odds with itself, like it's schizophrenic and trying to be two completely different things. Slower paced campaign plus fast paced endgame is a total whiplash when also combined with the new leagues creating burnout from the rush to endgame again.

I don’t know how in the world they expect players to play that overblown campaign multiple times.
You could cut the campaign literally in half and it would still be way too long.
GGG did same to my boy - parry playstyle of "Magma Barrier"
The first time I played through campaign and reached endgame I really got used to the slower gameplay and was enjoying it, just to get whiplashed by breach and delirium once I reached mapping, leading me to replace my slow, methodical build with a high speed ass-blaster CoC build. It's infuriating, either make a slow game or make a fast game, switching that around in the last segment of the game just feels aweful, you build your character for gameplay type A just to get immediatly kicked into the nuts once you reach the content where it matters.
