Get Rid and Do Away The Trials of Sekhemas and Chaos
Let's face it 100%, Trials of Sekhemas and Trials of Chaos is a poor lazy design.
GGG needs to get rid the trials and give the player based the freedom to choose the class and ascendancy they want. Also the ascendancy should not be lock per class, so that you can easily interchange the ascendancy anytime without creating a new character. Dernier bump le 19 mars 2025 13:06:01

Sekhema still need some rng tinkering to not to overwhelm player with debuffs but overall it got a lot better.
First 4 points is easy to get. So no actual ascendancy road block, and if your gear is not enought to clear first run no ascendancy wil fix that anyway. After you need to run them for good relics couple of times and with hight enough resistance you are pretty much charged for the final challenge. The real culprit is endgame gearing, you'll be slapped time after time if you go in with below average items, while majority of drops are unusable trash and market is in a desperate state. Sekhemas is pretty great IMO. And very varied. Honour is annoying but at the same time workable with good relic use. Permanent debuffs are annoying but you have control over the map.
Temple of Chaos is a mess. The bosses are particularly terrible. And being forced to get more and more penalties. Not to mention that the tile set is horribly optimized. Probably the worst performing environment in the whole game. And yet you have to play it tons of times. Rewards are problematic as well, soul cores would be nice in theory but runes' ability to tweak your gear's resistances makes them too good to replace. Corrupted Loot is a joke. Corruption is great as an item sink, getting it in drops is nonsense. You should be able to reforce 3 Temple Coins into 1 sekhema coin and viceversa, because if up to me I would never play Temple. |

Translation: I am buttmad because I died 30 minutes into a trial and have to redo it. Call me crazy, but ASCENDING should be slightly challenging.

Ppl don't want to play an Action Role Playing Game where the Role they chose is gated behind content that deviates from the rest of the gameplay and takes a long time to fully complete. I'm not surprised.

Agreed. Sekhmas is boring and Chaos is too RNG. Need something different for ascendencies that doesnt rely on RNG

If you're talking about separating ascendancy points from this content, then I completely agree with you. Players shouldn't be forced to do difficult content they don't like to get their ascendancies.
We need something easier like the Labyrinth from POE1 to ascend. Although, I think Sekhemas and Chaos Trials should still be an option for ascending, along side a 3rd option. At least that way if players have 3 different options to ascend, they can pick the one that suits them best. And 100% agreed that we need the ability to re-spec our ascendancy class. plz and ty.
Awful system as is, even as bland and arbitrary level rewards would be better. |

Its a terrible system any build and class needs to be able to gets its Ascendancy points.

Oh please.
What they clearly need to do is double down cos that'll clear out rest of the casuals and play for fun folks and leave the love to grind for the sake of it, no lifers and streamers here to enjoy the game, as originally intended by the sacred vision. In all seriousness though, it'll never happen.. that ship sailed when they reinvented the wheel and then started jamming square pegs into round holes or vice versa. We had a perfectly fine, working system in the first game but it wasn't ruthless enough so they fixed all of it.. random is the name of the game, surely you've noticed that almost every single system in both of the games rely on random chance, right?
