Im casual with 92 but I stopped playing, wiating for standard, I could reach 100 by now.

I don't think you realize how steeply the amount of exp needed per level increases.

EXP needed
Level 95: 2 billion 867 million
Level 100: 4 billion 250 million

So level 95 is just 68% of the way to 100

How much exp you have at level 92?

Don't forget. When ppl say "level x is half way to level 100... that only refers to the amount xp needed, but the higher you get - the less exp you gain, thus it takes even longer.
With the economy the way that it is it's cheaper to grind out 95-100 than it is to grind out the currency needed for a comparable power upgrade through gear.

My gear isn't great but to upgrade it a few percent in offense/defense is at the lowest point 10-15 div per slot.

Being able to get those last 5 passive points in a timely fashion would be a good alternative until we can accrue enough currency for those pricey gear items.

It'll never happen though.

Hopefully at some point they release content similar to 5-ways in POE1. Last season I paid about 20 div total to go from 96-100 while wearing the +xp gear items.

Praying that makes a comeback in POE2, otherwise I'll never see lvl 100.

Exactly. Timewise, some would estimate it would be around lvl 98 in poe1. Don't know the exact point in poe2, but it is not much different from that.

Edit:

I did some math. Simplify, of course. I considered running only lvl 80 maps with constant clear speed and I didn't take in account any penalty for running level at lower level than safezone (i.e. lvl < 73).

With those parameters and considering poe1 data, reaching lvl 98 takes 48% of the total time to reach lvl 100.

Hello,

after 750 hours I reaches lvl 98 almost. I see discussions about a balance patch end of march and ask myself if there will be an economy reset too. If so I hope about a bit easier way in the future to reach lvl 100. Personally I hope there will be no reset until at least the ladder is full of players which have reached lvl 100.

No clue what your doing, but your not min maxing your XP. I have under 500 hours and my Stormweaver is 98 and I gave up because it's pointless to push to 100.

There is absolutely nothing casual about 750 hours lol.
Theres no real reward for being 100 when you can clear all content in the high 80s/low 90s - if there was actually some reason to grind your entire fucking life away into the sad existence that is maps that are meant for 10 levels lower than sure maybe I'd try but I feel my chars in the 90s are maxed out anyways fuck if I can kill shit in 5 hits why do I need to grind lmao

Their whole monster level to player level ratio is stupid af. Same in Poe1. No idea why they think its a good idea.
If you are a very motivated casual, you might do it. :)
GGG balances their games around the no-lifers, so 99% of players will never hit level 100.

In this case, it is actually the opposite. The game is balanced in a way that you can beat any content with a char under lvl 90, which is a fine target for any casual player. The gain for those last 10 levels is minimal. I have no idea why casual players care so much about not being able to reach lvl 100.

Because we feel like we are artificially gatekeeped in obtaining the satisfaction to feel completion.

I mean there's far better way to implement challenge and self satisfaction than gatekeeping basic stuff like level and ascendency. (Like hunting special boss, reaching T18 maps in X days, beating arbiter with just magic items, etc).

I don't understand why you feel like it's important since as you said, the last 10 level is of no importance. It shouldn't matter if people reach level 100 especially in a PVE game wich mostly is played solo or with guildmate.

Let's not mistake things, ok? Lvl 100 is not a "basic stuff", like ascendancy. It doesn't gate any content and doesn't make you char much more powerful. It is just a ladder thing that casual don't even need to worry about or for those with "completition feelings" that want that 40/40 in a temporary league.

Sorry but if you feel a need of reaching an unnecessary max level on a grinding game, I wouldn't call you a casual player.

Anyway, the only official ladder in this game is about level and XP. If they make it easy to reach the final obstacle, it wouldn't be fun for those who follow the competitive scenery. As long as it doesn't gate any content for casual players, I don't see the harm of giving competitive players a thing to play with.
