32:9 Mod Prohibition Feedback

"This includes the use of third party mods that remove black bars in ultrawide resolutions to gain the unfair advantage of an increased field of vision."

In the history of poorly justified bad decisions, this probably merits some sort of award.

This objectively verges on sheer idiotism.

1. PoE 2 is primarily a Single Player game, an experience that the player can, and should enjoy as he or she likes, this is an extremly important part of the experience. This includes playing on any hardware of the player's choosing.

2. You are running an event for less then the top 1% of players. And using it to justify a restriction on anyone who wants to enjoy your game in its full splendor in 32:9.

3. The so called "advantage" is de-facto non-existent. It is not any more of an advantage then having a higher framerate, higher resolution, better quality screen, or simply having had a good night's sleep and being alert... You might as well claim that having nimble fingers is an unfair advantage...

4. It's just a video game. It doesn't matter. Let people play how they want.

5. If you absolutely must, enforce the rule for the event, specifically, not for everyone else.

There is no sense, and no logic in this decision, this is simply a poor, lazy, decision, justified by a made-up, imaginary reason.

As a side note, not even all PvP FPS games prohibit 32:9... if it's not an "unfair" advantage in a PvP game, it's not one in PoE 2.

Fully agree here, ultrawide 32:9 vs 21:9 is night and day for immersion. Without being able to utilize the monitor i can sincerely say that the game is less engaging and not as fun.

Having bought a 32:9 specifically for gaming, and then not being able to utilize it in one of the games I was most anticipating for this year is extremely disappointing. It doesn't make sense to not support it.
I don't have an ultrawide monitor, but if you told me getting one would improve my gaming experience and immersion - I would consider it.

Let them have their ultra-wides, and lest us zoom out more.

Not being able to see bosses as a ranged character or what's killing me from off screen is frustrating.
It's ridiculous. Claiming a difference in how the game view is like cheating... But they let PC people use third party system that allow them to have unfair advantage when it come to trading (Stuff like overlay)

What the heck are they thinking.
Just stop cheating.
Horses have better vision with horse blinders.
I agree, I don't have an ultrawide monitor but let the guys have their ultrawide game. stop with the nonsense, the game would look crap with black bars on the side, it would trigger my ocd to the point id probably not play.

stop triggering/trolling people.

Modify or adapt (including through third parties and third-party tools) the game client or its data, other than in the normal course of PoE gameplay as permitted in accordance with the Licence.

Tools like PoE Overlay II and Exiled Exchange should be banned immediately or included in TOS.
Right...things that improve player enjoyment are a no-no but if you run a business and use bots/scripts then that can go unpunished?

IMO, let players do whatever the heck they want with your game. It's EA. Compile the data and figure out how you want to deal with stuff before release unless something is absolutely destroying your game's EA experience(like the economy-ruining RMT'ers).

Modifying the game files has never been allowed and GGG usually just bans everyone and ignores them. Not sure how telling people to not cheat and just play the game is trolling or triggering.
