Improving Death Penalties // Unofficial Poll: Are Current Penalties Making You Quit?

Slowing down pretty much makes me quit. Or when I hit a wall. Especially a wall of a 1-3 divine rng consumable item to do the content.

I enjoyed the campaign and actually don’t mind loss of exp on death but 1 portal maps pushed me away. If that’s their vision then I accept that and hope that people who enjoy the system can get some fun out of it.

I occasionally check forums for changes but yea, it’s a systematic change too far on the hardcore end and personally I just wanna blast mobs after a long day and not be punished so hard for a single mistake.

If you enjoy the game as is, then good for you, and I hope they continue to make content that keeps the current audience happy.

I'm only back on the forums to complain about PoE2 ascendancies AGAIN. After going through the lab again with Phyrexia, it renewed my hatred for what they did to ascendancy trials in PoE2.

A death penalty was the final straw that actually made me quit.

They have intentionally made every single aspect of POE 2 worse than POE 1 -- and I can't even begin to understand why they thought that was a good idea, or how they have literally no oversight at all?

I quit because of this, and only occasionally check back here, hoping things change. People got less vocal about those issues because most people gave up and quit already. If you look at steam player counts, you'll find that about 90% of the players are gone, and the demise is only accelerating as game is losing like 15% of its players per week now.

It's a damn shame, I wouldn't be invested if the game sucked to begin with, but IMO it was a 10/10 game until the endgame hit and turned it into a 3/10. If people didn't care about this game, they wouldn't be here and complain, they'd just leave. But less and less people are caring.

Pretty much, yeah.

Came back to play bit of story after not touching the game for a month+ and it's been fine, the economy is in the dumpster and the gearing game is still the worst i've ever experienced in a arpg but at least smashing random monsters is still fun.

As long as i stay away from the "endgame" or the, quite honestly, garbage trials anyways.. heavy experience penalty on top of one portal system doesn't work for me, at least in the first game i can go back and continue the map instead of here where the game gives me the middle finger when i miss a roll or get one tapped by some random death effect or whatever.

I'll probably continue playing the story on my gemling attribute stacker and after i finish, well.. no desire to run maps, not when there's nothing positive to look forward to, nothing worthwhile to chase, just endless garbage drops and an economy where everything is priced so far out of reach it's impossible to get even basic gear to make a build function.

The current amount of time required to reach the highest levels is simply unreasonable – the average time needed to reach level 100 for an average player is equal to or even exceeds the average lifespan of the league's economy and the league itself.

They really need to either adjust the experience gain rate or introduce a reward system for levels beyond 97.

I feel like there is a severe lack of passive points at level 100 – you can’t fully realize your build idea, as you’re constantly forced to sacrifice points in other areas.

If they believe that reaching level 100 should require special skill, then make it so that a level 100 character is noticeably stronger than a level 97 one.

Because right now, there is absolutely no difference between being level 97 or 100 – those three extra points change nothing.
