Race Announcement is a giant "Get Lost" to the majority of players

I don't really see how this will make a lot of players come back. The format doesn't lend itself to feel inclusive to the larger majority of players. From the simple fact that it is set at a specific time on specific dates, meaning a huge portion of the player base realistically can't even make it to participate, nor watch the event. There's no "participation reward" of any kind, you either place first with the class you chose, or you get nothing. The same people can even win all three dates since they proudly promoted that there's no limit on how many times you can win. I'm sure there'll be some buzz, there'll be streamers streaming themselves trying to win, but I don't expect this to have a large impact on regular players returning. Maybe we can hit 100k concurrent players on Steam again at least. It does feel a bit sad to see it go from such a hyped release, which maintained high concurrent player numbers for quite a long time, to now peak at 87k. I don't particularly care about the player count of a game mind you, what matters is if it's fun, but it is indicative of how long GGG has taken to release some player engaging content for the Early Access title.

Can't wait to reinstall this buggy early access Alpha to cheese a speedrun event with the most broken not-nerfed-yet zoomer build around ... i will definitely win one of these crappy unique !
