Burning grounds dmg
So are burning grounds affected by player resistance?
It seams like they are not? Should they be or is intended not to be? Dernier bump le 8 mars 2025 12:58:05

Almost every single mechanic in the game is designed to insta kill the players, so you can't progress easily. They are adding new ones (Saw some redding ground AoE). Makes me so mad when I die instantly. It's almost never my fault

I'm so sick and tired of chucking a bunch of exalt orbs at a map to not realise you got the burning grounds insta kill as a negative effect.
My monks not top tier or anything but I'm over capped on res, I run around with 4k energy shield, and I've done most content except pinnacle with him. But the goddamned second I step out from that portal into a burning grounds tier 15 I have no idea what the hell is going to happen, please for the love of cake and all things tasty ditch burning grounds for the good of the game. God forbid you stop for 2 seco ds to pick yp loot and can't see the ground because of all the effects going on like melting ice walls or fire circles and my mate favourite, the never ending spark that he can do continuously ad infinitum |

The waystone should say: "The whole area's ground is on fire, which ignores your resistances. There are patches of ground free of it but only few. Delirious: you can't see the burning ground".

The problem is everyone who played POE 1 knows, so GGG expects you all to know.
No, burning ground is a gotcha. We hated it in POE 1, and they literally intentionally made it worse in POE 2. Literally their only focus is making everything worse |

A few words about Burning Ground
In all games having lava, acid, wolf pits are used-such things serve as soft walls. And so there are not many of them, they take up considerable space and they are clearly distinguishable. Floor effects in GGG do not meet any of these properties. It would be worth remaking already, everything is obvious here, in my opinion. Although this is obvious if all these effects are done for the player. If they are made to check the bild, and it should be able to ignore all this, then of course everything should be left as it is. |

Burning ground SUCKS. I had a warrior with 9000+ hp (OVER 9000!!!) was a gemling of course because they're ridiculous, he could handle it because I had 85 fire resist and a huge hp regen - trade off I couldn't really kill anything, even hammer of the gods was pretty shit and needed multiple.
You're going to get the energy shield hero's see this thread and say it's fine but I've played with SO many hosts, so many party members all who feel the same and hate it. People bin their maps with it because it's not worth it and in fog its hard to see at times. Compare it to shocked ground - you take more lightning damage, thats fine. Chilled ground, thats fine, poison cloud/ground is a bit rough but the density of it is not even 1/20th of the amount of fire on the ground of BG, most maps you can't even go around it! +1 remove that shit or modify the damage or amount of it by A LOT |

(Laughs in Stormweaver with 8K mana, 2000 Mana regen, max fire res)

You need to stack up some "Life Regen Per Second". Try to get 10-20 Life Regen on a few items. On the character sheet try to get 100, ideally 200 or more.
For Warriors it's a no brainer anyway, since many builds use Blood Magic. On other classes I could understand why it is frustrating. A big problem with degens is they happen so silently you look away one second and next thing you know you're at 10% health. I don't know what is a good fix, it's not a UI thing, it's probably a flawed gameplay element. Degens are just not an enjoyable mechanic. It's ok sporadically in obvious situations like pool of poison, in POE2 there's just too many of them to keep track off: many chaos damage degens from regular mobs attacks, burning ground, the blood pools... Maybe a better way would be that it hits you like a "tick" when you walk into it, and then a degen but much weaker, and then every second or so if you still stand in the effect, another tick of damage, which could then match a corresponding sound effect, |

Yeah but the problem is my bro tons of classes dont use life pool so they dont look for hp regen, it smashes energy shield too if the regen isnt huge on it. The issue is COMPARITIVELY it's way stronger than any other degen ground effect and the sheer amount of patches in maps means more burning than normal ground, it needs balancing for amount and lessening on damage since even capped fire res doesn't help when it really fkn should cos it does against mobs
