Something has to change and fast
I am growing weary of the amount of RNG in this game, and how little control i actually have over any 1 thing in the game.
Ive had a love hate relationship with this end game from the jump, but its leaning into the hate. Im tired of setting up towers, clearing maps, putting in precursors, just for them to not land on any good nodes, no good maps, just rubbish placement. Im tired of setting up 50 rituals, stacking them on top of each other, only to go in an do 15 rituals in a row with 1/3 and less that 1k tribute. I am tired of every time i get a semi decent weapon with 1 good stat, its always the first thing chaos'd off. I am tired of how impossible it is to get end game crafting materials like omens and greater essences(SSF) I am tired of how blue mobs can kill me through 10k ES and life leech on physical, what is the counter play to a Pack of Blues with explode on death in a ritual area the size of college dorm room? I am tired of breaches seemingly being only draw to rubbish maps like crypt and always avoiding any decent map on the atlas. I am tired of spending 50 maps pathing to a citadel, only to find its completely cut off from civilisation. I am tired of how some of these atlas passives do nothing to help you, i am 8/8 on ritual atlas, think ive seen a single audience since then? No, of coarse not. I am mostly still playing out of sunk cost falacy on my SSF, but my god, you have zero control in this game, and GGG is too scared and afraid to try new things, because they succeeded with PoE1 and dont dare deviate from the same forumla and try anything actually innovative. I am just tired, but like a weary soul....i truck along (SSF BTW, 600 hours, 900k kills, lvl 96, picses, blue eyes, enjoys long walks on Sandspit) Dernier bump le 14 févr. 2025 21:05:35

you're not the only one, don't worry

Vey well explained
440 hours here same feelings |

I concur. Around 500 hours here too and lvl96.
I especially agree with the layers upon layers of rng on mapping, drops, crafting (if you want to call it that) and with the impossibility to obtain anything remotely useful for crafting. It's bad, real bad. I have found 8, I repeat, 8 greater essences in 500 hours. And a greater essence is nothing but a pull on the slot machine with slightly improved odds because chances are that it will be bricked by exalts afterwards anyway. I have not seen a single decent Omen. Welp, not exactly true, I saw one of those 23k tribute Omens pop up once, but guess what even with the 50% reduced deferral cost from the atlas tree and having set up a ritual precursors with 10% reduced deferral cost I could not defer it, because it was on Crypt map with only 3 rituals and it game me only 1.3k tribute. Best quote I read with regards to this was: They want you to play the game, they just don't want to let you experience it. |

I have to agree here.
To much RNG is simply bad. Some stuff cna be fixed like the atlas or the ritual or greater essences. Otehr stuff liek equipment cant really be fixed. Unless you add better crafting which would come if you make all Omens and greater essences way more frequent. I have over 550 Hours and saw 2 greater essences. And not a single good omen. |

" It would hardly get better. Just to give an example: White chiming staff and using an essence of electricity and a greater essence of electricity on it. That gives you 2 out of 3 possible electrical affixes. Which is great. However, there is still 4 more affixes you need to unlock with slamming exalts, giving you ample opportunity to brick the item. I don't want to get into the math because it is a bit intricate and would have to rely on some assumptions, but trust me when I say you'd need hundreds of greater essences to get an item with 5 or 6 desirable affixes. And all of that does not take into account the tier of the affixes. So it still might be utter trash. I am convinced at this point that the best "crafting" in PoE2 is to take an item with 6 affixes on it and slam it with Chaos orbs until you have the affixes you desire. (which probably would also take thousands of Chaos orbs) Dernière édition par Slart1bartfast#0332, le 14 févr. 2025 12:15:27

" Thats why Omens exist. You can reroll bad affixes, but then Omens have to be way way cheaper and more frequent. |

Why do you think there are so few people that can stand to play this game more than 2 months? Steam numbers are 10-15k on a normal league, 20-30k on a good league.
This game is a huge casino full of small gambling mini-games and unrewarding gameplay. The game doesn't require any in-game skill (aside from game knowledge), there's RNG with horrendous odds everywhere, campaign sucks and can't be skipped, SSF is completely impossible for casual players and trading does a complete 180 vs. SSF and makes the game completely trivial. I believe there are some 600k-1M PoE players on Steam alone. Every 6-12 months a few come back to the game in a new league (hence why we have 150-200k peak players). They play for a month or so and quit it for another 6-12 months. This won't change because it works for GGG. Just look at their massive $100M in annual revenue with a 30-50% EBT margin. Every new league is the same: 1) Nerf to the ground everything strong in the previous league 2) Rebalance weak things to be strong so that the game feels fresh (weak stuff is ignored, so players feel there's "new things to try") 3) Release supporter packs available only for that league (FOMO-driven sales stratgy) 4) Rake in the easy revenue from unaware customers 5) Rebalance servers because 50-65% players leave in a month and 90% leave in 2 months (got to cut costs to achieve that sweet high profit margins) 6) Spend the next 3-4 months deciding what to buff next and how to nerf the current meta without making it too obvious. I wouldn't be surprised at all that GGG will release Essence Drain to be very strong again in PoE 2. It has been so many years since it was nerfed Dernière édition par _rt_#4636, le 14 févr. 2025 12:58:37
