no new content for 4 months?

Am i assuming correctly that if the poe1 league is starting on feb 20th and is running for 1 month that means we will not get a single content update for poe2 in almost 4 months?

Didnt they say before launch they will release content at an accelerated pace?
Didnt mark and jonathan say they are trying to get it out as soon as possible?

I thought that at worst it will be the regular 3 month cycle for new content.. at least at the beginning when the game is in its most uncompleted and worst state.

Am i missing something?

At this pace, with lots of characters yet to be released i expect the game to be full released in 2+ years, surprised if released sooner tbh.

Not mad though, game is great and i rather wait than getting a rushed and uncomplete game.

And they said it would take them 6-12 months, imagine saying 6 months until the game is completely finished but then not releasing anything at all for 4 months

Yeah it's looking like they were way too optimistic with the 6-12 month time frame. That doesn't mean they lied. They just vastly underestimated the amount of work they need to do to get the game up to snuff.

I despise the poe 1 people who say they lied about poe2 not affecting the first. They didn't lie they just thought they could do it. Turns out they can't. Now they are working as hard as they can to get the issue addressed.
If this crap of one portal per map stays is better not to release anything else. And i really doubt that 0.2.0 will come before april or even may... And really doubt that "complete" game will be released this year

You are very naive if you think this wasnt an intentional marketing move, they already knew there will be no poe1 league if they have 0 people working on it months ago, especially with the vacation right after launch that was also no surprise to them, they obviously kept quiet so there is no drama before poe2 launch.
Was it a lie? If you want to be pedantic then the answer is no, still companies need to be called out for their greedy bullshit.

Also you cant just constantly excuse everything with "too optimistic", they delayed poe2 launch (multiple times), they delayed poe1 league(multiple times), now they are delaying poe2 patches.. there is obvoiously some weird issue going on behind the scenes that goes beyond "being too optimistic"
Yeah only in April if i'm right, i wouldn't have bought the game if i did know that this wouldn't be a EA, but only a worse POE 1. No big updates for 4 months since the release isn't a EA it is a the pace of a launched game. And if they did not bring ALOT of content and reworks on 0.2.0 i will not be playing the update since LE will be launching their Season 2 on 2th of April.
I wouldn't complain if they didn't decide leave the balance of the game in such a horrible state until the big patch. I don't care much about new ascendancies and weapons, the build variety doesn't suffer from the lack of tools available as much as it does from balance issues. They could just do some bandaid buffs for the most underperforming stuff like doubling the amount of life we get from all sources, reduce sanguinomancy life costs by 50% etc UNTIL they could do a proper balance in the big patch. Some mechanics in this game are so bad that it would be incredibly difficult to overbuff them.

Maybe they read feedback and reversed EA to Alpha )
I'm pretty much not expecting the game to be out of Early Access within their estimated 6 to 12 months. Then again, it does depend on how much content is pretty much done. They did say before Early Access that most of the content was somewhere around 80% completed already if I recall right. A release cadence of one major content update every 3+ months is too slow though, unless we jump from 0.2.0 to 0.5.0 or something massive like that. If we go from 0.1.1 to 0.2.0 to 0.3.0 to 0.4.0 it will take the game 2 and a half years to reach 1.0.0.

I (dwindlingly) hope we get more frequent balance changes and releases of things that are done. If Druid is done, push it out. If a different class is done the next couple days, sure, you can hold it off for a month, but at least do some more deployment of content updates on a more frequent release cadence so it can be reiterated on and improved before Early Access ends. Isn't that the whole point of Early Access? Right now it feels like we got the finalized released game and are waiting for league updates.
