Not how basic logic works. What I've done is create a proof of contradiction to your claim, not created a claim of my own..

You didn't even give any actual specific examples. You've given proof of nothing.

Back to basics then...what is wrong with these statements, honestly?

Is exp loss going to kill the game or is not having it going to save the game?

PoE1 has exp loss and isn't dead.

Torchlight 1 is a pretty dead game but didn't have xp loss.

There's surely thousands of ARPGs that I've never heard of that came and disappeared off Steam over the years, and there's no way they all had exp loss...but that's the point. There's an example of counterpoints to both sides of that argument...

It's not going to kill the game, and I don't think I ever suggested it would. However I do think it holds them back and contributes to the rapid player dropoff that some players have come to expect. If they had any business sense, I'd hope they aspire to improve player retention - because 80% dropoff is a significant amount of lost potential earnings.

I don't know that game but a quick search reveals that this game spawned two sequels, the last one being developed and released long after the co-founders left. Is there anything you can point to as evidence that XP leniency is what led to their demise?

IMO

What GGG is doing is missing the opportunity to grow the game and dominate the space.

Their decisions guarantee a niche game.
Perhaps that is the goal, a niche game with a bunch of whales.
Their success launching PoE2 highlighted what is working in their game.

It is about to be copied and improved on by competitors.
They are going to get mired in PoE1 drama.
They are going to stick to their guns on several contentious issues from the players perspective.

Nothing wrong with being a niche game.
It's just the players really wanted more.
