Game is Unbearable After Level 90 – Remove the XP Penalty!

I can’t progress past level 91 and it’s incredibly frustrating. I spend hours grinding for minimal XP gains, only to randomly die and lose 10% of it. It’s maddening.

To all the hardcore players who say "Get better, your build isn’t good enough," here’s the reality: I have 100k base DPS (which can go up to 270k), all my resistances are capped, CI, 6k ES, and Grim Feast x2. So, seriously, spare me the advice.

It’s just not fun anymore. Every time this happens, I end up quitting. Even using waystones to farm maps feels like a chore instead of something enjoyable. Having to suffer every time I enter a map, yeah, that’s real fun, right? What a mess of game design this is!

Why can’t they introduce a SOFTCORE league where XP loss is removed? Dealing with this nonsense is exhausting.

I’m completely fed up with it.

They should at least add in "Revive Coins" like how the Chinese Client of the Game offers by Tencent.

Revive Coins – Allowing players to revive in place instead of having to restart maps, reducing frustration in tough encounters.

Revive coins: you may buy and spend these coins to revive in SC leagues to avoid XP loss up to level 95. The costs go up gradually, up to 4 coins per deaths at level 90+.

These coins are not very expensive and are often given as free gifts.

They might also want to think about adding in QoL Features from Chinese PoE That Should Be Added to the International Version such as:

1. (Auction House/Trade Market) – A more streamlined, in-game trade system that reduces reliance on third-party websites.

2. Revive Coins – Allowing players to revive in place instead of having to restart maps, reducing frustration in tough encounters.

3. More Stash Space by Default – The China version provides more stash tabs without needing as many microtransactions.

4. Pet Auto-Item Pickup – Pets can automatically collect currency and basic items, reducing the need for manual looting.

5. Auto-Sort Stash Button – A single-click stash organization feature to quickly sort and arrange items.

6. VIP System – A battle pass-like system that provides QoL benefits without disrupting game balance.

7. Better Currency Stack Sizes – Increased stacking for currency items like Chaos Orbs, Exalted Orbs, etc., to free up inventory space.

8. Death Log (Death Recap System) – Provides a detailed breakdown of how you died, showing the final hits received, debuffs, mitigation details, and a timeline of incoming damage before death.

9. Auto-Identify Feature – Automatically identifies items when picked up, saving scrolls and time.

10. Improved UI & Minimap Enhancements – A cleaner, more detailed UI with better quest tracking and improved minimap clarity.

There’s a simple solution to this: just create a Softcore League with no XP loss, perhaps slightly increased XP gains, and so on. It’s an easy fix!
Nice I just faced the Arbiter, and lost 57% of my XP at lvl 91... that's so MUCH FUN!

Killed it, then it cheated and killed me with those fireball area things, when at 0 life

I also lost almost 60% XP that took me like 2 days to farm.

Done with the game, like with PoE1 fuck this game!

I wanted to say something but unfortunately i can't due to forum guidelines
I agree. This is also why I don't put anywhere near as much Time as I do in Diablo 4. Diablo 4 designers have done a great job LISTENING to the players. POE designers have said the experience penalty is here to stay. Not going to continue to put time and money into a game that is frustrating instead of fun.

Not that it would've helped necessarily, but why does your belt carry only 1 charm?

Others have done this fight, you could too I'm sure.

Diablo 4 is a simp game.

We'd prefer poe not be that way.
you dont do hards content if you care about xp

omen is also cheap and 2,5% takes like 90 minutes at 96
