The currency exchange system was a huge success. Build on that to include all other items and you have a complete gaming experience. Having to message dozens of people to get a connection is a massive brain drain.

Totally agree. I honestly can’t understand why GGG still refuses to give us what the game clearly needs. The arguments against a proper trade system are:

not rational,

lack any coherent context,

borderline idiotic,

sound like bad-faith takes,

feel intentionally obstructive,

reek of outdated elitism,

ignore the actual player experience,

seem like there's some hidden agenda,

insult the community's intelligence,

and most importantly — completely miss the point.

At this point, it’s not just disappointing — it’s suspicious.

I really think it has more to do a the extra server power needed to run a AH and the main reason they don't want to have to spend the extra $'s on server bandwidth. Imagine all the searches and transaction validation needed to run a AH. Then be prepared for RMTers to take over very fast and jump prices way up. Possible duping that could happen with bugs.

Hideout warrior crafting high-end items... charges 500 Div for 1 piece. Player goes to RMT site and buys 500 Divs with real $'s then purchases the Item. Now the hideout warrior ammasses large amounts of Div's which is then transfered to a RMTer who then resales Div's for $'s to another player.

We can guess this happens already, but outside of GGG and game. If an AH was made then GGG would be paying the bandwidth cost for all this.

If server bandwidth is a legitimate issue, the best they they could do is be upfront and honest with people, at least most players would understand and appreciate the transparency.

As for RMT and hideout warriors, most players aren't buying gear worth multiple divs. I don't see it affecting most gear that sells for less than a div

one of many arguments for more robust trading system (not saying specifically AH but rather some capabilities for offline trading) is league longevity with a direct impact on player base especially with respect to casual players.

You know, there are some so-called speed level-up alt builds — sure, they all need a bit of shopping, right? No surprise there.

So I decided to level an alt. Watched a video (Lazy’s build), she reaches endgame in like 4–5 hours. Cool, whatever. I start shopping.

Shopping took TWO damn hours. Why? Because majority of sellers didint respond to trade offers. It’s like shouting into a cave and hearing nothing back. %80 of times. send request, wait, next, wait... infinite waiting...

By the time I was done shopping, I was already exhausted — not from leveling, but because the marketplace sucked the life out of me.
Speed leveling? What speed? It’s a joke under this trade system.

Just make instant trades available already.
Better yet — give us an Auction House. FFS.
