you are wrong, you dont even know what you are talking about.....

Darling, if you want to prove someone wrong saying "you wrong" isn't enough.

Common, tell me where I am wrong. You know better, teach me.

Stop calling people "darling" it's incredibly condescending and distracts from any point you're trying to make. You come off as incredibly rude. I truly hope you're not a GGG developer, if you were I'd fire you in a heartbeat.

The "10% exp loss" is in the game for a reason, it's a "check".

If your power is good for what you do - you will earn exp, level up and get stronger.

If your power is not good for what you do - you will die, lose exp and don't level up.

So, should you die so often that you lose more exp than you gain - you need to change what you are doing and/or improve your character/skills/passives/etc. or do content you can safely grind until your power level is high enough.

This prevents you from brute forcing things.

If they remove the "exp loss" you would gain power (level up) when you should NOT gain that power. You would overcome/ignore a flaw of your character with progress you should not have.

Two notes; going past lvl 96 is with 99% of the builds not needed, nearly all builds are done at this level or even before that. Only a few rare cases really need the last points.
The other point is if it is "too hard to farm" or "too much time to get lvl 100" I am sorry to break it to you, BUT...

Grinding Gear Games

What you say is arguably wrong. I can basically one hit highest tier pinnacles but still sometimes die in maps to some wild shenanigans. Saying its a power check is just wrong.
I think my lowest playtime in leagues I didn't care for were in the 600 range.

566 hours play time is essentially less than 1 full league.

I personally like the XP loss for a bunch of reasons. not a fan of 1 portal, not a fan of the changes just to change things from POE 1, but the xp loss isn't really a big deal.

It would make leveling feel cheap.

In POE 2 they did make the xp loss MUCH worse though... in POE 1 it's barely noticeable unless your build sucks.

It's not. That you are able to die somewhere does not make my point invalid.
You can one-shot bosses? Cool. Most glass cannons can too. That does not protect you from being able to die to some map mods.

You misunderstand the "power check". It's not "you are power level 9000 now, so you can do everything without any problems accruing" it's "if you die to often - your power level is to low for what you are doing". That applies GENERALLY and not PERIOD.

Thats mostly nonsense.
The only thing that prevents a person with level lets say 95 to reach level 100 is time. With level 95 you already did a lot of tier 15 and tier 16 maps. You can run them without dying. Otherwise you simply dont reach level 95.

The issue now is POE2 itself. The game is not really player friendly. Sometimes the Game kills you in shitty ways. For example a sun priest blasting you to death from a place where you cant reach it. EXP is fine if the game would be mostly skill. But POE2 is not mostly skill. And i mean actual combat skill. There isnt really much to it, its not a skill game.
The issue then is that one death at a high level makes you fall back a long way.

I personally dont have much issue with exp penalty, but i see the issues it makes. POE 2 is just a very frustrating game to play sometimes, cause many deaths dont feel like you could have done anything different to save yourself.

It's not nonsense because the entire point is "levelling to 100 is not only tied to time", time is the non-factor here, everything in existence we do takes time.
If you want to get level 100 - GGG wants from you to don't die at all or reduce your deaths to a point where you still level up, so extremely rarely.
It's a challenge for ppl who want to overcome it and adhust their character/playstyle that way.

Ok just add an achievement "got to level 100 without dying" and give them a "you is awesome" sticker. Nope I can pay someone to level me in POE to 100 about a week after league start. Whatever GGG "want" is irrelevant, it isn't a challenge, it is a meme and always has been. I CAN PAY!!!! Is the real reason.

Seriously if GGG allow players to "pay" ($$$) in game currency to other players to level in no time AND allow these mechanics to remain, no argument will convince me otherwise. Muh challenge, muh build not gud.... Nope allowing insane grind to be bypassed with currency that can be purchased on one of the many google advertised POE1&2 currency for cash sites is a proxy scam by GGG.
