Stop treating Early Access like a "League"

I don't think a name change would have helped. Call it "Beta," "Early Access", or "Testing and Improvement Phase." People don't care and/or don't understand.

You can explain to them what "Early Access" (in development) means, give them other examples like "Baldur's Gate 3 - Early Access" and they still refuse.

These people expected something that GGG had not even promised or implicated, and then they got mad and blamed GGG for it. They would always find a reason to do so.

The best you can do is "ignore them" or "debunk them" if you want to waste your time on deaf ears.

I wish I could argue with you but the crux of your argujment is solid. I think (??) that we have too many people interested in playing a new game as opposed to being focused on trying to make the game better -- which playing it is an important part but not the key thing.

YMMV

they could have avoided the riot if they provided a free respec token. Since that time they did lower respec costs so it shouldnt be as bad now.

Anyway, they need to make more changes more frequently but I can see the value of putting the changes in a new league so everyone starts fresh with the changes. Maybe a reset every 6 weeks?

Early while there are frequent (?) updates to be made 6 weeks sounds good. I think I'd prefer 2 month leagues later on to see how the economy develops for slightly longer lasting leagues

That "too many" ppl are interested in PoE2 could actually be a good point.

If I compare it with the "Baldur's Gate 3 - Early Access" this wasn't an issue.

Most of the time the average player count was 1k, with some spikes when a major update dropped, but that basically was it.

We tested stuff for bugs, reported them, fiddled around with things and gave our feedback. There were ppl who "criticised" the game into the ground like some do here, but they were the minority - just really vocal.

But I guess if we were not 1k, instead 100k-200k... even the BG3 EA would've been completely different.

Some call me a "chill" because I counter baseless "feedback", but that's not true. Over the years and even now - I always criticised GGG for good and for bad things, the only thing I hate is "destructive" criticism instead of being "constructive".

The reason for a lot of the concerns is that GGG have made stupid comments about really bad design choices calling them intentional, its very concerning to think that the lead game designers of PoE2 believe that the game needs anything other than a complete re-design of the entire endgame and the skill tree.

I mean, I get many voiced concerns, I have concerns myself about some things in PoE2, but how some (not all) ppl are presenting them is destructive and literally helps nobody.

Do you mean the "Atlas Passive Tree" or the "Passive Skill Tree"? Only asking for clarification.
Agree, this is basically a big fancy beta test. No need to get undies in a bunch over the economy, etc. Just blast the game, have fun, give feedback!
+1

EA needs to be a testing ground to make the game better!
