10% xp penalty is far too frustrating
" Dude what content are you running where 10% exp is 4 hours of gameplay??? Are you hard stuck in t3 maps or something. I get frustration with the penalty but be realistic |

I can't believe people are genuinly upset by this. If you don't like it, you might as well just quit the game because I'm 100% sure this wil never be changed.

" And then the game's player retention will drop giga fast until it's completely dead. Not a very profitable idea to leave these death penalties in the game if they want to make profit and grow the playerbase. Because getting punished for dying in Softcore right now is doing only one thing: chasing players away from the game. And that's bad. |

" It matters because if everybody can reach 100, the average player power increase When player power increases more people can run more rewarding content When more rewarding content is being run, the market becomes flooded In a market based / trading economy game like Poe, this has repercussions the devs might not be okay with. This can result in: T0 drops become even rarer Less currency drops Nerfs to amount of MF available End game content gets buffed (harder) to compensate player power creep ^^ all these above instances already occurred in poe1^^ this isn’t purely hypothetical There needs to be a reward for players who can play the game better. There also needs to be a baseline to test this stuff, hence early access. Provide genuine feedback, don’t ask for handouts. |

Agreed. The XP penalty for dying needs to be removed permanently. GGG should be doing all they can to encourage people to keep playing. All the XP penalty for dying does is discourage people, and piss them off.

" I'm sure those extra 10 points from lvl100 will enable the average player to kill all endgame bosses deathless first try, farm giga-juiced t16s and rain down currency on themselves and flood the market with headhunters and other t0 uniques. That's not how that works. Also if exp penalty didn't exist, a casual would still take possibly over a month to get to it passively by just doing a few maps every day. Do you honestly think that would be such a bad thing for the game? |

" While I agree with you on rewards for better players. I think you completely miss the ball on argueing against the XP penalty. The XP penalty will not keep people from reaching 100... nor will it create better players. All it will do is frustrate less good players (like me :D) and make it so that players like me who don't quit because of frustration will reach 100 at a much slower pace.. which in my opinion doesn't make any sense as I will already be much slower because i'm a less good player, meaning i would be doing lower tiers than good players and getting less XP in the process. So Why would players like me then also need to be punished with a 10% xp penalty? saying don't ask for handouts is such an easy answer when all you do is compare to POE1 which is a much easier game in comparison. Keep in mind that the "rewards" you are talking about already are in the game in the form of trails/ascendancies. higher T maps, etc. This harder content will be the content that your so called better players will be able to achieve (or achieve faster) over the lesser good players. In that case maybe better players who are doing higher content should get a bigger XP penalty, maybe even not stop losing XP at 0/x but also lose a level if you keep dying in harder content? |

It needs to go. Please give us an option to play "SSF casual" mode. I don't care for multiplayer or "the economy" nor setbacks of my chars experience.

Disagreed - there are plenty of games for casual players who don't want a challenge. Go play one of them instead.

" And how exactly would others not losing XP in a special game mode effect your own play experience? I am a POE player for over a decade - since the first beta - and spent close to half a thousand euros on this game. The time for these XP penalties has just ended. If someone wants a more brutal experience - give them "veteran mode" and let others have their casual mode. Dernière édition par DanielH#5404, le 18 déc. 2024 17:06:10
