The Boss Fights in PoE2 Feel Exhausting
Am I the only one who can’t stand the boss fights in Path of Exile 2? Don’t get me wrong—the bosses are visually stunning, and I can appreciate the effort that went into designing them. But I personally hate Souls-like games, and dying repeatedly to the same boss is just not fun for me. It wouldn’t be so bad if there were only a boss at the end of each act. However, it feels like every zone has a boss with multiple phases. On top of that, they feel like bullet sponges, taking forever to kill. There seems to be way too much emphasis on bossing, and it’s exhausting. The worst part is being stuck on a boss when all you want to do is continue playing the game. It’s demoralizing, and I often lose the willpower to keep trying. Sure, it might be a skill issue on my part, but like I said, I just don’t enjoy Souls-like gameplay. I wish GGG would consider adding a mode for players who don’t enjoy boss fights. Maybe they could make the current mode “Ruthless” and add a more standard mode for players like me. My favorite part of an ARPG is mowing down mobs of monsters and feeling powerful—not grueling boss fights, and especially not the ones in Path of Exile 2. What do you all think? The success of the souls game has shifted the culture of gaming to an insufferable circlejerk about how cool you are for playing unnecessarily difficult games with unnecessarily difficult guidelines/restrictions. All of this is intended and exactly what the devs want. The vocal majority who just hates PoE1 and wants to be smarmy about it are going to tell you to shut up. Essentially you are screaming into the void.

I agree 100%. There is no continuity between PoE 1 and PoE 2. They shouldn't have even called it a sequel. When someone makes a Mario Party game you expect a board game where you minigame around the map while drunk with friends. If you get a game for the next sequel that requires you to fight Souls-Like bosses for every minigame it feels like you got tricked. That is literally how PoE 2 feels for a lot of us. I was told this was an ARPG. It is not. It is an Isometric Souls-Like. They know this, its why they decided not to delete PoE 1 as was originally planned.

I hate Dark Souls.
Too bad for people like me as this looks to be the path POE 2 decided to imitate and got inspiration from. Great suggestion by the way. That would be awesome for casual players! Dernière édition par PathSoph#6723, le 10 déc. 2024 à 21:27:37

I've had more fun fighting these bosses than any boss in PoE1. I don't think there's a single boss fight in PoE1 that I would speak favorably of.

" Won't matter when they get bored of redoing the same few bosses. Thing is, other than maybe two bosses with some dodgy hit boxes, they aren't hard, they are certainly boring however. Running in circles got replaced with dodge rolling in circles. Got to 55 on my cast on freeze comet sorc and just got bored wondering why I'd want to suffer through that campaign again as a class with even less useful early skills as half or more of the good stuffs locked behind lv 40 even if you got the gem. Just straight level gated. PoE1 started the same way but when most the people get bored of dealing with an extremely tedious campaign to try something new, it'll get scaled back. For anyone trying to take pride the games hard, it's not, at all. |

" Generating an actual want to play this boring dishwater vs doing literally anything else. I opted to clean my apartment for my Wife over playing after work and doing the dishes was harder than this game. Man I hate dried on food. |

The one-shots are pretty manageable though, and can be somewhat mitigated by getting more health; people will git gud over time naturally.
The real problem IMO is the campaign bosses' HP; hopefully they tone them down over time. Right now any new player without gear playing non-meta classes with average/low DPS are gonna suffer. A lot. |
