Can someone contact a gaming journalist so they can investigate and report on this issue publicly? This would surely shed some light on the current situation and potentially set an example for releases in the future!

I think I'm going to abandon the game, it annoys me to have to reboot the PC each time it freezes... or to have to deactivate two hearts each time it launches

Still experiencing full lock ups after the update. Setting max CPU to 95% isn't even saving me today.

The only thing that helped me is deleting cache and then locking those folders up. The issue is definitely with cache and should be fixable.
Now I can even minimize the game while loading and it does not crash! WoW, it would certainly crash before the fix.
Where i can find caches folder?

Worked for me after changing gateway server.
OMG it really worked. I couldn't log in to my character, but when I changed the server it didn't freeze.

Here's a simple batch (runpoe2.bat) file that will clear the shader caches before launching the game on Steam, in case anyone is interested in trying it.

Got a freeze on lading screen, open the game again and got freeze just after the GGG presentation screen, open the game again; manage to log in; put a map into the map device; click portal; get freeze on lading screen again.
Cmon GGG your game in unplayable
