Hard crashing PC locks up
" Hey man, I truly thank you for the work you've done for the community that GGG hasn't. Kudos to you, now I can play! |
|
" The problem is with that temporary fix is you are still going to crash a ton! I would go full out with mine, I play 12+ hours no crashing. |

" What the hell... that main link was posted July 28. This issue is affecting BOTH of their titles potentially for months and GGG are completely silent. People are so desperate for a solution or even a somewhat reliable workaround that they're trying any random idea presented by other users in this thread. I'm certain that if they opened a dialogue with the community here, root cause could be narrowed down and fixed quickly. Leads me to believe they know exactly what it is and either don't have the personnel to fix it in their tech or the issue is so fundamentally ingrained in the engine that a fix is impossible without a complete tech overhaul. Maybe a combination of both considering how many crashes they launched with. The silence is completely indefensible, though. Dernière édition par zumocano#9039, le 19 déc. 2024 à 15:19:30

uninstalling the most recent windows update seems to have fixed it for me ( 6 hours, many portals, no crashes.)

Real
Shame no fix for the holidays |

Early Access right before a vacation period is a terrible idea as it turns out. :)

" I think they thought the same legal loophole that protected them during PoE1 would protect them now as well, but newsflash it does not. Because they sold early access itself. If they wanted a liability protection they should have sold MTX and then "gifted" early access to whoever purchased 30$ worth of MTX. Now they remain silent in hopes that no one sues them in US. If only I were in US... But this is just me, thinking about this "silence", trying to make it seem rational. Those threads are exactly carbon copies of ours. Astonishing. Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. |

My game is freezing frequently on load screens, locking my PC up completely and forcing me to do a hard reset.
(in game I have tried to run with all lowest settings like dynamic culling, upscale off ... ect.. as well as trying with just all the default settings which are everything on high with Dlss/flex/dx12 and so on). Operating System: Windows 11 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 26100) (26100.ge_release.240331-1435) Update: 2024-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5048667) (last installed) Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700KF CPU @ 3.80GHz (16 CPUs), ~3.7GHz Card name: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Seems I am having this issue ONLY with POE2 and not with any other software and as far as I can tell this has been happing every since launch day although I remember it becoming most frequent during my visits to Act 3 the first time around. |

" Path of Exile 2 has a critical coding failure in its code that makes the game hog all available system resources due improper usage of system APIs, therefore crashing the program AND the PC itself. (Technically it crashes the OS because OS can no longer get the resources it has to in order to function properly). peepeepoo#1611 theorized that "This is an issue with their async thread code resulting in memory violations. It causes an infinite loop trying to read an invalid pointer when loading new levels, which never completes so just eats performance. The reason why disabling some CPU cores works to not cause a complete crash is because processes do not all share the same threads on those cores." But using --noasync and --waitforpreload as steam launch commands did not fix the issue so I do not know if it is true. All we know that this happens for all CPU/GPU combinations (AMD, Intel, Nvidia) and for all OS and OS versions (Win 11 24H2, other Win11s, Win10, Linux) Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.
