No point in dual wielding wands?
I have a 0.2 DPS increase by equipping a second wand, what is the incentive to dual wield as opposed to equipping an energy shield shield?
There are no (that I've seen) skills that utilize dual wands like the skills that utilize dual melee weapons. Doesn't seem balanced/viable. The least that should be done is allow dual weapon skills to use wands and deeper issues may need to be solved as well. TehHammer is not a crime! Dernier bump le 22 avr. 2023 à 06:02:49

Wands benefit from the same benefits to dual wielding as other weapons - a 10% increase to attack speed and a 15% block chance.
Whether that's better or worse overall compared to wand+shield will depend on the build and equipment. | |
" His conjecture was that there is no 'build' because there are no associated skills. If you have account problems please Email Support

Does the % of spell damage stuck?
if not, then its a totally waste |

"Yes but you can get comparable spell damage mods on shields as well. The reason you'd use a wand in offhand is to take advantage of cast speed mods that can't spawn on shields. |

" For spellscasting builds you don't want wands anyways, but you want 80% crit chance daggers. |

OP, sounds like you are lower level or have not really gotten into your build yet. Once you get your DW passives it makes a lot more since for a wand witch to DW than use a shield. Until you get there, maybe not so much. You'll know when you have reached the turning point- its obvious by just switching back and forth and looking at your DPS and attack speed

"Yeah, that's true. Even moreso with how good Whirling Blades is as an escape skill. |

" This is exactly what I was trying to get at. There are no skills, and very few passives that make a dual wielding wand build viable. There are a total of 3 dual wield passives near the wand damage passives, 2 are for speed, and 1 for accuracy. The next closest blob is down near Ambidexterity with 3 damage nodes and 2 attack speed nodes. The only other branch of dual wield passives that are on the top half of the tree are over by the Templar. But the real killer is that there are no skills that a dual-wand build can utilize that a single wand build can't. So even if you dance around the tree picking up more dual wield passives, you're still not viable because you're still using 1 of the 2 attacks that any wand wielder can use. " I'd like to ask what your build is in that case, because picking up the 3 passives that are near the witch starting node isn't enough to make the build viable. TehHammer is not a crime!

Yeah it still feels a little lame that, while you can build passive tree-wise for an effective dual wielder, there are literally no skills that effect dual wield wands, and even then only one that effects wands in general (power siphon).
Someone in another thread recommended that you have a support gem that makes an ability work for dual wielding. I think that would be pretty interesting. Maybe even take it as far as changing double strike/dual strike to support gems that have the intended effect on an ability. This would open up dual wielding to something a bit more interesting. Really though, they need to add more skills usable by some of the weapon types (wands, daggers, and claws are probably seeing the least love here), as well as more that take advantage of dual wielding.
