Reflect build?
Sitting at work and bored...
got me thinking, is there anyone out there who has made a build around reflect? Can it even be done? If not, why is the stat even there? So all you reflect builds come forward and show us your builds. |

The punishment curse, which is the reflect one, only works on actual damage taken.
Which means if you take a 100 damage hit and your armor nulls 90, then you only reflect like 25% of the remaining 10. Of course, when you take hits that do like 500~ damage, that's still returning only 125 per hit to that particular enemy. Which means now you have to sit there for a while to tank stuff just to kill them. It's like, why do this when you can cast Enfeeble to lower damage and Molten Shell for basically superior reflect? Player life/defenses are currently far too crunched for a reflect build (with the player getting hit) to be viable.
Something other than you has to be taking your damage for you. This makes Punishment very interesting in combination with a Decoy Totem (as a two-skill utility combo, not as a main skill) or with minions (especially the Minion Instability kind that want to get hit anyway). gl;hf! |

I would also like to add Shavronnes Wrappings and Tempest Shield. You can reach about 140-450 reflected lightning damage with those two combined.

id rather wear a bramble jacket and reflect 30% physical than reflecting 250 dmg

Read the description. It says "damage taken". Therefore, you would have to minimize your armour in order to reflect a sizable chunk. Therefore, you don't really live long enough to reflect anything meaningful. Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.

Why not use the bramble idea with an evasion build? That way there is no armor to negate incoming dmg. Granted if you evade 50-70% on incoming hits it still doesn't seem feasible as a primary dmg source but may be fun to experiment with.

If you evaded the hit, 0 damage was taken, therefore 0 damage was reflected. By increasing your defense in ANY WAY, you screw with the reflected damage output.
We could argue that evading 60% of the hits is actually the same thing as having 12 endurance charges for 60% physical reduction. On an infinite amount of hits, you will reduce 60% of the incoming damage. Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.

I've been thinking about this too man! You would definitely have to spam all HP nodes, and use rejuv totem for sure!
