If you don't like it... don't buy it? Is that really so hard people? I mean look at all the mtx sales already giving streamers $0, and now you're upset that they aren't getting more for simply having an affiliate link? Just shows you don't care about content creators or the "POE Community", you only care about shitting on the game that has given you hundreds or even thousands of hours of enjoyment because you don't like a decision about game design. Your outrage at GGG is hilarious for this is hilarious, but I suppose this is just a byproduct of modern society and people thinking that they can cancel anyone they don't agree with.
Seriously, if you hate this game so much and want to praise Last Epoch or whatever other competitor on the market is then just go play that game. The sooner you get off of here and go enjoy yourself, the happier you'll be.
And yeah, I can already see the "intellectuals" going "complaining about complainers blah blah blah" as if it invalidates any of what I said. Not like I'm complaining just to complain, you guys have been making these forums and reddit into a cesspool that is difficult to enjoy visiting.
Its not hating on the game. The economics of this are just bad. Buying a $42 armour set gives your favorite streamer a whopping $3.36.
Or, I could buy a $60 supporter pack - get a free armour set with it and 550 points to buy whatever I want. If I donate just $5 to my favorite streamer we're both way better off with that deal.
Affiliate supporter packs with streamers instead. Now that is a win win win (GGG/Streamer/Me).

Ok idea but more transparency would be appreciated.
What percentage goes to the streamer if I buy an armour set this way? I noticed some cool sets are on sale when I was browsing (RaizQT's store for example).
But if he's only getting like 10-20% then I am out. Would rather just sub and buy a supporter pack which is a much better deal all around.
So... what percentage do streamers actually get with this deal?
I just checked and it seems like from a 42$ packs, the amount the streamer gets is:
"
KittenCatNoodle will receive $3.36 from this purchase.
About 8%... With a ratio this low it feels a lot more more like streamers are the ones doing advertising for GGG. I'd honestly consider upping that ratio substantially, since some people might skip on a personal 40$ donation to the streamer in favor of these packs.
$3.36 on a $42 purchase is insulting. I don't mean to be harsh but the economics of this makes no sense.
As a consumer I get a much better deal with a supporter pack and the streamer gets a much better deal with a $5 donation. 8% is awful. That needs to be bumped up to like 30% or more to make it feel like I am actually supporting both. I just don't see the value of this as is.
Edit: Other option is allow our favourite streamers to sell supporter packs. That would feel a lot better for the consumer (me) and also feel better knowing I am supporting the game and streamer at the same time.
If you know about economics and business, it cannot be that high, as the streamer is not the creator of said business. This is a standard affiliate % payout in any industry.
That is also a % that they would not of had, were they did not create an affiliate opportunity to get a portion of the purchase as pure profits.
The basics in business is to up you. Your potential profit percentage is to become more valuable to the marketplace. GGG has done an incredible job in this regard and thus deserve everything that they ask for.
In conclusion, they are giving streamers an opportunity to get supported, in a % off the products that GGG has created for the marketplace.
I trust this provides some clarity and understanding from a business point of view.

You clearly haven't seen "the community" if you're rooting for those people. Good luck supporting toxicity and vegetative states of human existence with your wallets.
People like you are the enablers of that.
Oh another one without friend.
PoE community in the streamscene in the least toxic community i've seen since SC2 back in 2010.
can't believe the amount of whiner lately
Actually fooling yourself into thinking that mainstream F2P gaming communities are somehow different, let alone not-the-worst. There are literally 0 restrictions on who can play or anything that would filter out the community.
It's not that you just can't see at all...

Yeah that makes sense but I just don't see the value of this when I can donate $5 to my favorite streamers and get a supporter pack that gives me way, way more value for my dollar.
Maybe not everyone thinks of it in this way IDK. Personally, I don't see any 'feel good' value in this armour set deal for the streamer or myself.
Now, if GGG allowed supporter packs to be affiliated that would be something. Easier for streamers to promote because the value of a supporter pack is clear as day and they would also get a small percentage back in return.

Nice try! sadly i dont watch streamers. Rather support GGG devs from the offical shop itself. I want GGG devs to be more motivated to make POE bugs-free.
GGG Devs should start becoming streamers

Interesting. One the one hand 8% seems like pennies on the dollar. On the other hand, it's 8% which is better than nothing at all. If there is 0 cost to the streamer to become an affiliate, it results in some extra change in their pocket. It could add up on top of any other $ people just throw at them while watching a stream.
I am not up on my streamer & game company kick-back program know-how so are any other companies doing this?

I can’t buy any more big supporter packs because the forum only supports showing 7 legacy tags.
