Why do we use purifying flame in Wave of Conviction set up? Don't we want to inflict lightning exposure instead of fire?

How is that related? Wave of Conviction is a separate spell, it gives Lightning Exposure. Purifying Flame just gives Consecrated Ground (and more if it's alt quality).

Unless you're doing SSF, I'd just buy a cluster jewel and self-craft it if it's early in the league, even if it has 9-10 points.

If you are, the things you'll take instead are the Templar Area, Doom Cast, Annihilation.

On what budget? Depends a lot on gear, but things like +1 lightning, +1 spell, T1 % Spell Damage, Crit Multi, Wrath Aura Effect, Mine Throwing Speed. It would cost more than all the rest of the gear together. One would be with an Unveiled 4-sec trigger mod.

Chance to deal Double Damage and the related Focus mod also work, just not a fan personally. Lightning Penetration works well but less needed here...

Yeah, Minefield is less actual dps and locks you into a long throwing animation. It's a trap for noobs.

Don't think of it as rng, think of it as 62% More DPS at 21/20.

In the gem setup you have 4 debuffs Arcanist Brand, Assassin's Mark, Wave of Conviction and Purifying Flame. In the videos it seems you only use Arcanist Brand. Am I missing something?

None of those are support gems, so they dont show up on tooltip. But the brand will cast all gems linked with it.
