" I wouldn't recommend swapping Rumi's for Dying Sun. Rumi's provides a lot of defenses through armor and block. Dying Sun doesn't really provide this build any benefit, and can actually reduce your effective damage with its Increased Area of Effect mod. I think you're misunderstanding the core of this build, which is ok, so I'll outline it here: The wand attack that we use in our six link is designed to hit as many enemies as possible so that we can crit as much as possible, so that we can trigger Bladefall as much as possible. This is so that Blade Blast can detonate as close to its maximum number of blades as possible. With this in mind, we want a projectile that can either pierce, fork, or chain. This is generally why we use Kinetic Bolt linked to Barrage, because the projectile forks, while barrage gives us a lot of attack speed. Another option for bosses like Sirus is to swap the Kinetic Bolt (blue) to Concentrated Effect (blue), and Barrage Support (green) to Barrage Attack (green). This allows us the same, if not more, attack speed, but sacrifices the fork for concentrated effect. This means that the blades we leave on the ground are much closer together, causing the damage from Blade Blast to overlap much more. Using Power Siphon is an option, but it strictly lacks pierce, fork, or chain for map clearing. You could use it on bosses since it has culling strike, but by using Increased Critical Damage instead of Barrage Support, you are losing a lot of attack speed, meaning you have less blades to detonate. Not only this, but Increased Critical Damage is largely irrelevant to our attack setup, as the majority of our damage comes from Blade Blast. For all the other people struggling with this build's damage: You need the Bladefall Enchant and Awakened Spell Cascade to see the true PoB dps. Without these, you won't be detonating anywhere near the actual 40 blades that is shown. If you don't have these yet, simply set your PoB to show 10 blades detonated and it will be a conservative, but more accurate measurement of DPS. I estimate that without these gems the average amount of blades detonated is around 15-20. " Thank you for such good explanation, i did not know that. I will get the belt and awakened spell cascade and then i will come with a reply. |

I don't get why unnatural instinct is being used. Dropping herald of purity for flesh and stone makes the herald nodes useless. the only thing you seem to get out of it that is useful are the mana/spell dmg nodes.

Hey thank you for the awesome guide!:) One question tho, I looked up your characters and your version of this build has quite a different skill tree paths taken. I know that you are supposed to transition to Blade Blast at some point, but are you supposed to spend so many points "incorrectly" first? That will take a lot of Regrets to respec. Is there some kind of ultimate "dream" version of the skill tree path you could post up in the guide? Maybe one that won't cost so much to redirect down the path?

" It is to save passive points. Yes, true, the herald nodes are useless for us when we drop HoP, but by using Unnatural Instinct we can get all of the small bonus passives like the "Spell Damage per Power Charge" node, for example. When you finally switch to Unnatural Instinct you free up passives to use on whatever you're lacking, like life or crit/multi. When I swapped at 93 I gained something like 300-400 life and ~700k dps from the extra passives. Frankly, the benefit from using Unnatural Instinct doesn't really outweight its current price. You'd be better off saving up more currency for bigger upgrades, depending on where you are in the build. If you find that you are dying and need more life, it might be worth picking up just so you can spec into life nodes. What would be the next best upgrade for me?
Ferruls fur is way to expensive, is the gloves the next best upgrade? As I can almost get them currently. I seem to do a lot less then you, but I thought my items were only a little behind, as even if I did have the chest, it wouldn't really be added that much damage anyway(would allow a higher precision) but that's it right? some of the guide is different then the POB, like enduring exposure isn't on the POB, it has battle hardened instead |

Hi, should awakened spell cascade have quality on it? I am asking, because I think Bladefall should have as little as possible aoe for blade blast detonations?
Am I right? |
