[3.10] Gryph's Volatile Dead Necromancer || Fun, Medium Budget, Tanky, Millions of DPS
Guys, spent 500 chaos on rolling these and got this beauty. Quite happy with it.
All pretty much on the way, nice rez, crit, life and some Fire damage.
"
18% Crit Multi
23% Fire Res
14% Lightning Res
9% Cold Res
13% Maximum Life
34% Increased Fire Damage
3% Fire Res Penetration
3% Increased effect of Auras
Also just crafted something like this:
Got an imprint of it,
Spent 10 ex on it and best I have got is this: (cant really spend anymore atm)
Was thinking about multimod and spell damage and adds fire to spells? or fire damage
What do you think?
I know it is not 81 lvl + so I can't get Jun top tier mods on it.
Done something like that for now, also put the fire penetration as it is a support gem

Hello! Been trying this build out, just got to last act and I cannot sustain my cyclone. Of course, i saw that coming, but I wanted to ask the peeps here, what do you think would be the biggest investment to make myself sustain cyclone properly? And don't say the Watcher's Eye(the one with Discipline), sadly they're 15ex right now :(

Character is "VolatileBeb". Thanks in advance!
I'm experimenting a bit right now with alternative sustain methods, but the budget ES on hit will be the Fenumus Spinneret boots with Aspect of the Spider somewhere on your gear. Cinderswallow flask is great for sustain while clearing mobs and life leech will help on single targets.
This is the smoothest 1 handed build I have played by far so kudos to Gryph. And Finally got to fix my DPS issues on this build. My current problems now are:
1. Sirus - i run out of mana because of the mana flask running out long before fight ends and there is no way to refill it. What can I do to help my mana sustain (one of my rings has mana recovery over 4 seconds on damage taken)? Never have killed A8 Sirus on this build though have finally killed him on another VD Shield Block Based build.
2. Very very very squishy. Im on a knife's edge when leveling (am already lvl 97 and every death from now on is extremely expensive in terms of time and maps)
3. my HP goes down really fast when I cast for more than a second or two continuosly. Any help here? I have 1 ring that gives me life back for every enemy hit by my attacks. DO i need 2?
Number 2 and Number 3 are much more important for me as I wanna level to 100 with this guy. Though Id like to kill Sirus as well of course.
I also have the Watcher's eye with ES on hit but i have issues there (though not as bad as the life issue)
I play on Standard and may try to buy some cluster jewels from those who died in HC if needed.

So I'm doing some testing/experimenting right now with the build and sustain. Trying to see if I can get decent DPS while using a totally different method of Life sustain.
Sustain portion of this is successful:
Militant Faith - Venarius for The Agnostic keystone. Which Reads:
"Maximum Energy Shield is 0. While not on Full Life, sacrifice 20% of maximum mana per second to recover that much life"
From here I am currently taking the original tree that scaled ES nodes and removing them for the big mana nodes. Mind Over Matter and an unreserved pool of about 3k mana and I can sustain indefinitely (as long as I don't use Awakened Spell Cascade). It's a balancing act and a work in progress as I experiment with it but it might be more effective overall as it also solves the mana issues in general.
You will lose 1-2 damage auras. Aul's is still viable, though Atziri's Foible is an easy way to boost mana and regen.
Damage taken gained as mana watcher's eye is basically essential for good mana sustain. Mana recovery rate being an excellent 2nd mod.
Cloak of defiance would be a good option for ease of testing this method and/or just a solid budget unique to use. I prefer my rares though and you can get the 10% extra MoM effect on a Shaper Rare with spell crit anyways.
Anyways, you can mess around with that in hideout if you want, I'm still experimenting with it in league without using cluster jewels (ok, just using Kitava's Teaching) but it's got the sustain covered really nicely. Just need to see about DPS. I can get to about 220k on 6L with Spell Cascade per Volatile so far which is pretty reasonable but not great.
I'll be making updates if I find this successful. Here's for hoping. :P

this looks really exciting.
Am good without super damage. Just sustain and survivability (priority 1) is more important so this looks really intriguing.
Of course the key of your build which I am sure many love is the "hold down right button" clear and mapping :)
I saw your other build (and posted there as well) regarding the Low life version of VD spellsinger. I think it was using a wand and a shield (?). but i have too much invested in this guy to totally switch.
I will try out some of your suggestions Sir !!!!!! and thanks for always replying. You should have a streaming channel or Youtube channel for your builds. With your attitude for assistance and great builds, am sure you will have a lot of followers!

I am working on it actually. Haha. Working out some logistics so that I can have a scheduled stream and not just randomly whenever I "feel" like it (3 kids at home does not a stream friendly environment make).
If you want to preemptively follow me on Twitch while I work on getting things rolling you are welcome to:
I'm aiming to start with a scheduled stream 1-2 times per week where I know I'm not going to be disturbed by children. ;) For now it's at random/on request until I get that figured out. My Microphone is coming later this week too so I'll have some decent voice audio instead of nothing. Hahahaha
