[3.10] Gryph's Volatile Dead Necromancer || Fun, Medium Budget, Tanky, Millions of DPS

Just my opinion but you might consider making some mention of that in the required gear section -- I think I just gibbled myself in trying to go cyclone-cwc-vd waaaaaaaaaaay too early thinking I just needed scold's and the gloves. Not sure what to do now other than reroll. Respecced tree etc. Not your fault, the info is in the guide but it might save another person like me who just jumps in without reading fully. Thanks for the writeup, at any rate. Might go make another character and let this sit on the backburner until I have the coin to make it work.

You can avoid rerolling by using spellslinger. It works really well. You can use a tabula. I just happened to get suuuuper lucky with the CJack. Arc+Combustion+Spellslinger is great for spreading the debuff and healing with ignites.

my gear/links for reference

Edit: I will make an addendum to the required gear section as you are right, that will be helpful for people. Input is appreciated!

is the elementalist build easier to gear? since the belt helps a lot with the leech?

IF you can solve the mana and get leech capped then yes. Though I am now recommending we just use spellslinger until you can get the pieces together.
cool made some adjustments and am continuing on as spellslinger. Thanks for your response!
So just to be clear, the Necromancer build will still work right (Cyclone CWDT)?

There are a lot of options for life and ES regen outside of spirit offering.

For life regen, Stone Golem and passive tree should be enough.

For ES regen, Discipline, Light Eater and Essence Rush cluster should be more than enough to sustain?

There is also the Kitava's Disciple noteable from the unique cluster that consumes a corpse every 1 second for a 5% life and mana restore. Drawback is that you take 10% increased damage if you don't consume a corpse "recently" but I hardly think that would be a problem with this build.

I have all the gear to start running with this but I am not certain if I still need to run Bone Offering or not.

That covers the gist of it, yeah. Glorious Vanity is also highly recommended, but given that it's early league still that might not be reasonable (5ex lol)

Kitava jewel looks really good. Helps with mana too.

You will probably want this for life recovery (switch to Shaper/Crusader with life on hit for spells later)

I'm personally waiting to get a Martyr Staff and complete Uber Lab before I make the switch from Spellslinger to Scold's
anyone compared elementalist vs Necromancer yet?

also anyone have an updated POB link? both in the leveling section are broken and the on in the one in the passive tree section is a link to a 3.9 tree

3.9 tree vs 3.10 is almost identical.

PoB links work, are you using the drop down menu to go between the trees?

In the end Necromancer is still much stronger/well rounded because of Bone Offering providing a MASSIVE defensive bonus.

Elementalist has a little bit of QoL with golem regen and free life leech. I think I will ultimately remove that segment from the guide as I found just leveling and early mapping with spellslinger to be superior than trying to make Scold's work right away. You would then make the transition to Scold's+Cyclone when you have the pieces you need. Probably around low 80's is enough skill points.

You can check my profile for spellslinger links+tree
the thing is, I will probably use Glancing blows with a lethal pride jewel, so I do not really really need to bone offering. (i will get max block with it easily wihtout bone offering)

beside bone offering, is elementalist or necranmancer stronger?
