legion crashing

How does this not get QA tested GGG before release!? Serisouly, who wants to waste time playing something they can't get consecutive progress from? Not I.
I have yet to crash and have made it to act 2 but my brother on the other hand just started this game and hasn't even made it past the coast before he quit i counted 7 crashes in 20 minutes and that includes the time it took him to reset the game and join back into a group. Only skills being used was molten strike and ground slam. Crashes seem random opening chest's killing mobs or just standing there. I'm not sure what the deal is as i'm rather used to getting blue screened but it was way way later into the game like act 8 and beyond. I can't recommend this game to anyone else i know in this state i rather feel like a idiot getting my brother to play only to waste his time.
Hello everyone.

So my brother and I did some experimenting. I am in Virginia and connected to the Washington, D.C. server and my brother is in Texas connected to the Texas server. We are playing on the PS4.

We both have been experiencing crashes, but only when we are grouped up. When we are playing on our own, the game has yet to crash. As soon as we group up, we have roughly 5-20 minutes before a crash occurs. Its always random as to who will crash, but one of us will crash. Crashes occured in both Act 1 and Act 2.

The crashes happen regardless of what we are doing. We noticed more crashes from the timeless pillars, so we have been avoiding those, but the crashes still happen only when grouped together. We tried switching who was hosting and had the same results.

Actions we were doing when crashes happened:

* Adding passive points to tree
* Clicking X to open a door
* Killing monsters
* running around and enjoying all the death we dished out before the
crash....once we load the game back up.

We have not experienced crashes while moving from place to place as others have.

Hopefully this helps to debug this situation and gets things up and running sooner.

UPDATE: We tried something new. We grouped up, but stayed in different areas. As long as we were in different areas and not in the same instance, The game seemed to run perfectly fine without any crashes. So, the issue, or at least part of it, seems to be group members sharing an instance. Or maybe even some aspect of it, like maybe the experience boost's math is throwing some errors. Just throwing out ideas here. Hope this gets fixed soon. :)

UPDATE_UPDATE_UPDATE: WE FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!! For us it was Dash. When one of us would dash, the other one would be kicked from the game. We realized this after clearing an area then running to a waypoint. My brother dashed and I got kicked. we experimented and sure enough within 5 dashes the other person would be kicked. Not sure if any mods or admins here can get confirmation and maybe put out a warning on Twitter or this forum till it gets fixed?

Are you using any of the new dash skill gems while grouped? This is in the sticky at the top of the forum for known issues right now.

As to Legion itself crashing, it seems that even the PS4 Pro can't handle the huge numbers of released mobs during a monolith event. Every time I release more than a few mobs and include the monolith rare/unique monsters in that mix, it's a guaranteed crash. The console appears to just choke on it all at once and boom, instant BSOD.

Super fun when you finally get a monolith that generates multiple chests and rares in one go and...BSOD. Yeah, totally fun. :(
@SquishyTia lol I didn't notice your post when I made my edit. Was too excited to have found a solution. I also did not notice the sticky in known issues. oops. Oh well, was still fun debugging this issue with my brother, so all is well.:) Thanks for the heads up though. I'll be sure to look closer at the known issues next time.
Not even using dasn myself...split arrow and a support to increase a projectiles...hardly game breaking skill overload for a lvl 7 char. Still I won't be touching a game with the potential to brick a console til its fixed.

GGG pleae pull the dlc and give us back synthesis... At least it was playable for the masses. 😢

6/11/19:
Crashing multiple times to xbox dashboard since launch of legion; I've crashed in maps and delving; screen locks up for a few seconds then boots me back to xbox dashboard.
It's varying between mob packs; I've crashed while fighting 10 and crashed while fighting 30 etc.. the last crash I had 15 minutes ago was delving using shield charge in side rooms. I'm using hardline/cabled internet connection and I know 100% it's not my internet speed as I have 1Gig speed. If the goal is to make me a trade house sitter it's being achieved easily as I can't do anything.

6/12/19 Edit:
Game is unplayable as of now, the crashing has cost me more sulphite/currency than I care to actually add up; I can't complete maps; I can literally only sit in town... the crashes are all over the place and cannot be narrowed down to a simple, "I did this and crashed" because unfortunately even dying thanks to the insane server rubberbanding that's been happening since Synthesis is causing dashboard kicks.

Xbox One X

Wired stable 1 Gig Internet connection

I've switched gateways

Solo Play (not in a group of any sort)

Multiple crashes in Act 2 (I moved through Act 1 without crashing)

Using some of the new sills (Blood/Sand Stance, Perforate)

Consistently crashing

I am able to play on a standard league character without crashing

PS4 Pro, fully updated. About 300 GB free on a 2 TB HDD.
Washington DC Server, Wi-Fi with very stable connection.
Various times in the last 48 hours, most recently 6:20 p.m. eastern US.
Playing in Legion league (normal Softcore), always solo, Duelist/Molten Strike build.

Crash on loading to new area/instance, maybe 5% of time. When clearing Act 1 and Act 2, game crashed before loading up new act for first time this league.

Random crashes when moving—not necessarily with Dash gem equipped.

Had it crash when opening a strongbox once, no other enemies on screen.

Also have had crashes when preparing Monoliths—get about two dozen enemies (two with treasure markings) unfrozen, game crashes when timer runs out.

Using Dash is generally fine for moving in an area; I think I’ve only crashed once on a Dash press in the middle of an instance.

I haven’t found a way to consistently replicate these crashes short of “go back into game, wait for the programming gods to smite you.”

I’ve had a total of 8 crashes since league start (3 Monday, 3 Tuesday, 2 today). Hesitant to continue until a patch comes that might fix whatever code goblins are wreaking havoc.

(I do like the new mechanic more than Synthesis, but that might be because Cavas wouldn’t be quiet if I got so much as a pixel of him on screen.)
Hi everyone,

Thank you for all of your reports.

We're currently working on a large 3.7.1 patch. This includes changes targeted at the most wide spread crashes that Xbox & PS4 users are experiencing, which we'll be releasing as soon as possible on both platforms.

For those of you on Xbox experiencing crashes very frequently (simply by moving, or entering areas): Please check if you're running an "Insider" access OS version, and consider opting back to the standard live version. I've had reports from some users that reverting their system OS back has resolved such issue for many (but not all).
