Unleash Support sounds crazy isn't it?

2 seconds isn't all that long? Wait. Wait some more. That was two seconds. In this game it's a long time. You could easily get off 5 casts of your main spell in 2 seconds. I can see the bossing argument. Then you can't stand there and cast.

2 second isn't that long, going from pack to pack in map takes 1 to 2 seconds even with a movement skill, and even just ~1 second you probably has 2 stacks for a triple hit.

No 2 second isn't too long. If ruthless is viable for attacks, unleash should be viable for many spells as well. Especially you essentially open with 4x nuke for every encounter.

I can see "uber nuke" type of build that might work with this support.
The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.

Welcome to PoE.

Definitly looks useful for bossing. And/or as a backup heavy hitter to something like brands or WO. I can see it playing well.

But if the effects like damage over time stacks 4 times this makes dot spells look cool.

I am just trying to find out how does this work trying to brain storm some ultra nuke fireball or super DoT build if the "effects re-occurred" could stack.

I can't imagine this working with DoTs. The whole point seems to be to buff things that aren't auto-damage relative to things that are, and DoT is auto damage. A 3-stack Unleash proc on something like Vortex (which is instant cast with a massive DoT component) would seem to run counter to the intent.

Cheers

Wenn you need more than 4 cast to eliminate a group of normal mobs, you have a serious damage problem anyway. Recharge during the trip to the next group.

Syndicate groups need a hit and run tactic anyways, direct long nuking there leads to direct trip to town.

So this gem lowers sheet dps, but gives a lot of real dps.

Only at harmless bosses with much life you get only your extra cast every 0,67 seconds and less damage than a different support. This is a cast - double cast cast double cast then, round about 30% more damage depending on your cast speed. Not THAT bad, there are better, but there are worse supports, too.

In any real situations this gem is a big damage boost. Take a slow casting hard hitting spell for maximum potential.

Its good. You need to move alot to avoid those sweet 1 shot mechanics anyway. But totems or mines\traps still better lmao.
I wonder if it'll work with spell echo :D

This same logic would apply to NOT using it. If you need the damage boost you would get from having charged up, you have serious damage problems anyway.

I think it will work with spell echo, but the "echoes" wont have the stacks applied to them.

I am going with a hard no on this.

I can’t think of a build I have played where this would increase my damage.
Its does not say you have to stop casting for the counter to stack up, so every .71 seconds, your get a double cast, while if you stop casting to move, you'll get even more.

Its a strange support. I'd say the damage scales better if you don't stack cast speed.

It's also a nice support if your casting multiple spells, not just pressing one button endlessly.. If you stop and curse, or War Cry, your gaining charges to multicast. Or if your comboing, like Frostbolt/Ice nova, you have more time to gain charges.

Yea, that Mathil's frostbolt and ice nova combo - this support will be awesome for that depending on the interaction.
Socket it into nova links and gg
