Why can't I call the ancestors to help vs single target.

We need to call the ancestors back and talk to them about the importance of single target dps, and how crap single target melee is rn, the ancestors agreed to only be called vs more then one target, are they too lazy to help vs single target? For real though did rain man design this gem and melee splash because I can't understand the thought process, why you would make melee splash so crap, then make a slightly less crappy version with the same weakness vs single target. Is single target melee really so strong that making Ancestral Call add damage similar to conc effect would break the game wide open?

Ancestral Call/Melee Splash are the same relationship as Concentrated Effect.

Either get more area for less damage, or more damage for less area.



On the other hand it's still easy to get area up enough even with Ceff, whereas Melee Splash and Ancestral Call don't make single target good enough to clear and make it worse at the one thing it was supposed to be good at.

Ancestral Call is more like GMP. Most skill deal less damage with it, but there are some that do more (Barrage with GMP, Molten Strike with Ancestral Call)

If Ancestral Call worked perfectly on single targets then it'd be a 2.55x multiplier for all melee skills at level 21.

That's... completely insane.

Because what man are you to need help in 1vs1? xD Show what are you made of. Prove you have balls or git gud and don't waste Ancestors' time.
If you are that bad anyway...then just summon some friends to do your job. LUL xD

yeah it'd make glacial hammer a pure single target skill do nearly half the damage of molten strike! Really busted...

Obviously a fatuous statement but you get the point :p

The mark of a strong skill in modern times is that it can kind of do both which further simplifies the game.

The Ancestors all play Blade Vortex conversion-builds or Molten Strike. They dont care about your damage problems.
