How to craft a +2 fire skills staff?

Hi, sorry for the noob question but I'm back in the game after a couple of years and I'm sincerely lost. I'm level 50 in Betrayal softcore and I need to craft a staff with +2 fire skills (won't be able to afford a Searing Touch at level 60, I'm sure of that).

How should I proceed?

You can use Shrieking/Deafening Essence of Rage on staff (minimum item level is 55). But why you need to craft staff +2 to fire gems at level 50?

I'm following this guide: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2256217. I enjoy the build and want to follow it as much as I can.

I'm using Tabula Rasa currently and I lack tons of stats due to that.

Just keep using Tabula. Unless you have 6L really good staff.

Just get as much life/resistance as you can on other stuff.
You should also prefer life passives over damage nodes on the tree now and you will be fine.

If you want more specific help you need to unhide your character.

I assume when you said in your OP that you "can't afford a searing touch", you mean a 6-linked searing touch (which, yes, makes a GIGANTIC difference, you should be more specific next time--saying you can't afford a searing touch in general makes you look like a crazy person).

Anyway, buy a 6L staff from someone using the first link I gave you and then buy a shrieking essence of rage from someone using the second link, apply the essence, boom, done.

Is there actually a minimum ilvl for applying essences? What'll it tell you if you don't meet that requirement? I though the essence mod itself was unconditionally applied.

Edit: I just tested it and made an ilvl 23 staff that I just bought from an act 2 vendor into so you're very wrong.

OP: disregard what DivineChampion said about ilvl

Thanks, so basically I should spend the only Divine Orb I have (which should be around 25 chaos nowadays, is that right?) in a normal 6-linked staff, try to get decent rolls and add the Essence?

Lastly, is it important to also corrupt the item once done, or is it actually a bad idea? I have a couple Vaal Orbs.

Essence will overwrite all mods on an item.
I think the best thing you can do right now is using Tabula rasa till you can afford 6 link Searing Touch or +3 skill 6 link staff.

TO Vaal orbs: you can brick your item by using this orb!
