Siphoning Trap

I see it´s a bit confusing but it´s probably not meant to be the main damage dealing skill.

The skill has low base damage (300 dot at lvl 20) and the main issue is built cool down.

It would require heavy investment and expensive items to be somewhat decent.

On the other hand it would work in combination with f.e. dot Vortex trap.

You should allocate Elemental Equilibrium to boost the damage significantly.
(Damage overtime can´t hit so won´t trigger EE)

Nodes such as Unstable Munitions also provide more damage.

But there some always stupid people outthere which begin to write about trolling, there are the real trolling people.

With this argumentation from you ..i know, with you i cannot discuss cause one is immediately insulted by such types

I think I gave some productive feedback with my first post which appearantly you're not happy with.
You even seem to be "insulted" by it?
I myself don't feel insulted by you calling me stupid, it's rather laughable based on the fact that you play this game since 4 years and (according to you) for 3000 hours+ and still have no basic understanding of damage values and creating proper builds.

If you're asking for help to make your build work and get honest and constructive feedback (for example using the siphoning trap as a support for your life/mana sustain) you should have an open mind about it.

Keeping your view on the skill regardless doesn't get you any further either.

Ok, this post was way too long since I still think this thread is trolling. Have good one!

and because you felt that you were offended. I'm sorry that's your problem and not mine if you interpret something. my main language is not english maybe there is often something wrong, which often happens in my language. But to impersonate me is very annoying for me and that should be clear to you, that's not right and then I can introduce you, I will not put up with that. And after 3000 playtime or 10000 i dont have to know anything.

Again! isnt my language. i dont understand the basic damage value. Some Gem have for example 250 cold damage at lvl 1 and its going stronger with each lvl. Ok this i understand.(but dont know can i boost it with colddamage in the weapon?)
Some Gem have dealing 120 % of base/cold/physical and so on damage. I dont know what does this mean, base damage from what, from my mainhand phyiscal/cold/.... weapon damage? I dont know.
I make a new char now with ice trap and i dont know how i can boost my damage. Should i have a dagger/wand/staff/2hand/1hand with cold damage to attacks, to spell, or is enough you have cold damage at the weapon, is better crit or crit for spells.
There is a new axe with around 400 cold damage, can i use this with Icetrap? I dont know, also a dagger with much cold damage. I need some guy which explain me the Mechanic in this game in my language, then i would understand.

Also i can explain, for me its unlogical, when i have a Critical strikes chance gem with 100% crit chance, but dont do 100%.
In my Charinfo i have a chance to crit 30 %. For my understanding there must be a hidden value who counts everything together. I dont understand 100 % are 100 %....also Freeze mine, always freeze enemies, called the gem, isnt so. That game is so complex, you cant understand, when it isnt your language. I read the Freeze value is based on how much life the enemies have. OK, how i should know that, the gem says "ALWAYS freeze enemies" also poe wiki dont say something like that. with a lot of search i found the info about freeze/life value and then I should believe what anyone posts in a forum.

There some Attacks i want to try but when i see there is a Base damage value on the Gem then i leave it. I always do Gems with a fix value. Therefore i try this Freeze mine and Siphonic, cause it looks nice, also the permanent freeze at Mine and the Siphonic looks cool in my opinion but I did not think that the value remains so low that you can not kill some enemies and therefore i ask here, maybe there is someone outhere and can explain me that mechanic in my language or in very simple english. But unfortunately dont care in which forum you are, you were insulted or you are being abused because you allegedly offended.

I miss the time, about 15 - 20 years ago, where not every idiot was online. No antisocial stuff like Facebook, Smartphones, whats app and so on.
Attack deals damage to targets based on the damage values from weapons or unarmed. Skills that deal attack damage have the Attack gem tag

Spell is an offensive ability that deals damage to targets based on damage defined by a skill gem. Skills that deal spell damage have a Spell gem tag.
Spell damage is one of four damage sources.

The chance to deal a critical strike is taken from the weapon used to perform an attack or attack skill. This chance is based on the weapon's base critical strike plus any local critical strike mods on the weapon. In the case of spells, each spell has its own critical strike chance, which is listed in the skill gem's description. This value can be increased by various modifiers.

For example, if the player is using a weapon with 5% chance to crit (or a spell that has same value), and has 100% increased Critical Strike Chance, he will have a 10% chance to score a critical strike.

I don´t know what´s your main language but basic information is built ingame.

I can recommend to watch E. Eternity videos on YT and you should start with his Beginners Guide Series. It´s pretty well made and rather easy to understand (you can turn on eng titles).

Don´t hesitate to ask more questions.
