Item pickup Range. Fix this already.

"opportunity-cost" is a nonsense term, regarding to PoE. Player cant know the value of rare items cause they drop unidentified, so he's forced to pick 99.99% of "junk" to pick up 1 "treasure" item.

Players who do understand opportunity cost are more efficient than others, and that's completely fine.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
My idea was solely to decrease number of clicks, such system could easily be adjusted to slow down character upon picking stuff if speed is the problem.

I mean, come one. My hand already hurts from all the clicking in this game.
item pickup range would fix or highly reduce the label desynch issue

But the rules, set for "opportunity cost" by GGG, arent fine (for me). They dont match the gameplay in PoE.

Increasing the pickup range doesn't feel like a problem to me and is actually helpful in that your character and subsequently the camera will move around less, making it easier to pick up a lot of loot in the same spot.

I am not in favour of autolooting, which is something entirely different and devalues all loot.

Auto-loot doesn't devalue loot, it's pure QoL. The ability to specify an auto-looter in-game should've been implemented a long time ago.

Why so? People want to PLAY the game and not work around missing mechanics, that's not fun in general.

Which it still would be even with auto-pickup. You would've to tell the game 'Hey, pick up this base with this ilvl and this rarity' up automatically for me. So, someone who has no clue as to what might be expensive doesn't do it anyway. People like me who aren't picking up 'normal' bases at all under ilvl 86 don't take that opportunity anyway.

For currency/maps/div cards and so on it should be an already implemented QoL mechanic available.

Frankly said... a game with the age of PoE, and the lack of QoL mechanics like in PoE... has troubles, major ones so. We can clearly see this getting more obvious with each league following.
GGG balance is like getting a pizza which is burnt on the sides, raw in the middle and misses the most of the toppings.
Then upon sending it back you get a raw side, burnt middle and enough toppings to drench everything in grease.
Everything fixed but still broken.

People (many) would follow the "most efficient cookie cutter" setup that would be widely accepted and recognized on reddit, and that would be it .... gg.

Topic: pick an item from a greater range to fix a bug

Discussion: but that would mean I can pick shit up without moving, this will break the game

Or am I getting something wrong?

A few leagues ago I was still picking up rares and identifying them and you know what? I was having a smashing time and I was even selling 1-2 ex-worth rares once a league.

Now the game just keeps rushing me. Do that, or else you'll run into that NPC again and you would waste the encounter. No no don't clear the entire map, your atlas is only at 30% there is no time for that. Crap, check your nexusus, maybe the wills of RNGs alligned and you can make that 1 path that is worth doing.

I personally think its disgusting that you just walk-kill the entire map and picking up the items is what slows you down. So any looting mechanic discussion must derail into "but if you automate that the game is over".

+1 on the comment that says, if you up pick-up range you wont fix items stuck in objects. Better fix that problem then try to fiddle with the loot IIQ trainwreck.
“We are the race of flesh, We are the race of lovers.”
I think they should just have a check that if you try to pickup an object where its impossible for you to get to it , you should be able to pick it up no matter what.

Its an edge case, probably less easier to fix than say it cause otherwise they would ahve domne it already or it does not happen that often its not worth priority time.

Diablo 2 had a short item pick up range. You could pick up items in a pile of loot without moving between each item like in this game. It was glorious.

D2 also had telekinesis that let you pick up loot that in places you couldn't reach. I think this skill was nerfed in D3 so that you could only grab scrolls and other consumables? If anyone remember correct me here if i am wrong.
