Item pickup Range. Fix this already.

I don't like this = must be broken, QQ "fix" it.

FYI, item pickup range wouldn't "fix" items stuck behind things or being in walls

Hey, I've got an even better idea: put in a feature whereas you can hold a key + mouse button to 'paint' an area on screen, after which your character starts picking up non-filtered objects there. That's some quality of life. Also ups playability by 25 % due to not having to click-click-click like an obsessive mental patient after each encounter.

I mean, are you vets gonna tell me it adds to gameplay having to click pickable objects million times one-by-one, to show one's glorious PoE skills? I would use such feature even if it slowed down movement speed to avoid too much speeding up area clears. Add some goddamn QoL to picking up objects, it's 2018.

I remember back in the day how Blizzard game Warcraft finally got this. It was such a huge improvement compared to their previous game Dune 2, where you had to command your troops by clicking them one by one. That was during the 90's, of course.

Thank you.

Increasing the pickup range doesn't feel like a problem to me and is actually helpful in that your character and subsequently the camera will move around less, making it easier to pick up a lot of loot in the same spot.

I am not in favour of autolooting, which is something entirely different and devalues all loot.

I am curious why auto looting devalues all loot. I mean I'd like some QoL in picking up items. I like how the crawler in Delve does it. I like how Incursion did it on the random encounters with Alva. I hate the lootsplosion covering the game. I like that we have filters. The chinese server has a pet for it, paid one at that.

I'd wish for a loot system where I can set up my loot filter, play my game, be notified if I acquired specific items or loot, finish my map or zone, and go into my loot room to experience my lootsplosion.

What's the deal with having an auto looting system in the game?

I think that scrolls (& map drops) and the lowest currency should be auto-picked-up. Right now I believe that most of that comes from either bots or new players.

Honestly I find opening chests for map-sustain (since they can drop maps) way worse than not automatically picking up currency. How fun is it to click on dozens of chests and other clickies every map... It isn't.
Alright, maybe I wasn't entirely clear. Lootsplosions are fine, not clicking to transfer an item from the ground to your inventory is not.

And currently, the loot you filter takes into account how much you need to slow down your clearspeed to pick up the loot. This grants opportunity cost and in turn a higher value to items that are picked up, because an effort was extended to do so.

Having all loot in one place like in Delve or Incursion rather than being slowed down to pick things up means that less valuable items will be worth gathering because there is less waste of time in between. I also see this as a deterioration of the original system, but it's preferable to just emptying your inventory into your stash without filling it yourself.

I want to ask the same question.
I've played many ARPGs and other games, that have some kind of "automatic loot pickup". And i always liked that system, it felt far more convenient that clicking on each item individually to pick it up.
And it never "hurt" any game.

"opportunity-cost" is a nonsense term, regarding to PoE. Player cant know the value of rare items cause they drop unidentified, so he's forced to pick 99.99% of "junk" to pick up 1 "treasure" item.
