Ways to get orbs of chance?
So I'm really struggling to get Orbs of Chance to buy all the maps from Zana daily. What viable strategies I can use to get them apart from POE Trade?
I kinda know Vendor receipes for them but they seem pretty tedious. Farming set of items below level 60 in low level zones seems a waste of time. I've also heard you could trade a set of 60 level items + one item below level 60 to get it, but then I'm basically wasting 60+ level rares that I could be using for chaos recipe. Also tried 1 x normal, 1 x magic, 1 x rare, 1 x unique recipe, but struggle to find other base items for my uniques. For example, tried to find base items for Bloodplay Stilleto. Checked all the vendors and held ALT key in maps to find blue and white Stilleto base dagger, but no luck :( Now I consider to trade them for fusings at vendor, but not sure if that's a good idea. best advice :
http://currency.poe.trade/ or 2 items with same name recipe, no other ways than you have listed Spreading salt since 2006

" Don't do this if you're in a trade league. Actually I don't recommend you to buy all Zana maps daily. Zana maps are pretty low level (maximum is tier11 if I remember correctly). Only buy the ones you really need (to complete the atlas, or for shaper/elder influence...) |

Selling 2 items, one original and one mirrored will net you 1 chance orb. So when you find a mirrored strongbox make sure to sell both items at the same time, not separately.

You're not missing anything. GGG just wants/expects that you give up your real life and play PoE 24/7. Just farm currency in The Blood Aqueduct (most linear speed running zone and also where Alva is guaranteed). You can also get Humility cards to drop if lucky so maybe after enough 100s of runs you can get a Tabula.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

Chances are one of the more useful gems for SSF play. You can target a unique. You can buy a map that you need.
But your Zana purchaces in chances are only T1-5. You don't need to buy those to maintain them. You'll get a decent "return" when you run them. Alch and go, or even just Transmute them and you'll gain more than you spend. You should only buy maps to expand your atlas. After that, she starts charging Alchs. Those are easy to make and not nearly as "useful". |

If you have a glut of other orbs and need Chances, your best bet, as alluded above, is the Strongbox mod "contains mirrored items".
So I would recommend rerolling magic strongboxes until you get this mod. It is tedious, but the only real guaranteed "source" of Chances aside from the ridiculously "expensive" vendor trade recipe. |

I'd actually say just run a bunch of blue t1-5 maps while having at least 10% Magic Find. Opening chests and breakables along with mob kills will net you a good ~8-10/h alone on a good run.

I've never had that problem, I usually have too many of those things. Maybe you're buying maps from Zana you've already done? I usually wait until Zana is almost ready to level up then check what maps she has that I haven't checked off the Atlas. I might buy one or two of them before I level her up and she re-rolls the maps she is selling.

" Yap. I just buy all of her maps daily - even those I've done to not run out of maps eventually. As I see from replies it's probably wrong. This is my first full playthrough. |
