is SST - Spectral shield throw a DEAD skill?

Like the Title of thread suggest, is SST a skill with no end game possibility? I want to see if someone managed to use this skill to the end game content... As a gladiator(phys+bleed with some random fire damage, lvl 73) I struggle to achieve my DPS. I can clear t3-t4 maps but no more than that. And future improvements that really matters on DPS count is only on shield armour. You can reasonably think to craft a shield around 2200 of armour, more than that you enter in the exalted zone!! for the 6L i'm using; SST + Physical Projectile Attack Damage + Slower Projectiles + Added Fire Damage + maim + Faster attack (i take iron grip from passive skill tree) can also use Onslaught or Physical to Lightning curse: projectile weakness or Vulnerability aura: herald of ash + Arctic armour and cwdt with Blood rage Can some pro enlighten me on this skill? Don't think you'll ever get it to do stellar single target, you can get substantial bleed out of a 2k+ shield like 100-200k range which is enough to clear all trash no problem.
I think if you want to scale it for single target you need to go a hybrid shield like a 1400/300 (if thats still possible), fully convert to ele then crit scale. If you don't convert to ele it just doesn't have enough nodes to scale it. I wouldn't say its a dead skill its difficult to build around thats all. That being said if your idea of a live skill is molten strike/bladeflurry/barrage/EK then yes its dead as are 80% of the skills. |

My deadeye can reasonably clear red maps but cannot kill bosses.
Legacy craft armour shield. Ewar's for an additional chain and culling strike. Gloomfang and Deadeye ascendency also for additional chains. Running Hatred and Herald of Ash and cursing proj weakness. You cant scale the damage at all. Character is being disassembled and items will be used with better skills like Blade Flurry. |

I'm playing SST pure phys with bleed as Juggernaut. Even with an 1,5k armor shield DPS is not an problem right now (T5 Maps, havent found any higher yet). SST, physical projectile attack damage, faster attacks, brutality and fork. Using the unique gloves with bleedsplotion for even better aoe clear. Fork helps also in bosses (shotgun at walls).

The funny part is, if you replace SST with any other skill, you just do 2-4x more damage.

" That summarises almost every skill in the game though, almost any regular melee skill does at least double damage if you swap to bladeflurry, especially with some lolkappa fake dual wield. |

"yes, you are correct; but the fact that they release a skill that have no chance to see the light of a build it's pointless. What's the meaning of having 100 skills if you can just use 10-20? i'll probably switch to some gladiator bleeding build, just to don't waste all the hours of levelling! " I think its probably worth it, of all the builds i tried so far the gladiator was the best setup, go for a lioneye's chestpiece for free pierce and scale bleed and you can have fun with it i think. |
